I like Demons. It's a gamble, and yeah, there are some crap ones, but they all have Magic. Some have some other very useful skills. The "quality" range of Demons is very large, unlike Beasts. You can check out example stats/skill here: http://muhagames.com/thea/recruits/
doing ok only 4+ challenge can threaten me or 3 if im unlucky on the card draw.
If you construct buildings using materials that attract other species, they'll start joining you at a speed that is dependent on how much Attract value you have and your current population.
Edit: I didn't read your post very well...I blame the beer. :P
Beasts, as stated, seem to mostly just be cannon fodder. They usually have decent health/shielding, so i use them as a buffer between the enemy and my glass cannon cards.
Edit: Also, Demons are basically lawyers. You just go around talking everything to death. :)
I feel the same - except that certain demons can equip all gear slots and come with formidable base stats, too. But they are rare, and waiting for them feels like playing the lotto, because you will often go through tons of garbage units before you get anything good.
Same way you delete anyone unwanted, send them on a suicide expedition.
Haha, yup, I like that assessment :)
Also, just to add to the discussion, non-human characters can be great fighters or just purely op if you're lucky, but their main role was to a) make it more fun, because some people just enjoy having a Pineconette or even a bee in their village and b) to diversify the skill sets and abilities, so yeah, you say Pineconnettes are only good at social and tactic, I say, exactly! So now you can maybe go and resolve a quest or challenge by lawyering up ;) or if you don't want to, just kill them off via suicide missions, I like that idea, maybe a contest, which unwanted charr can survive the longest on their lonesome :D
It is the nature, both good and bad, of Thea, that you have no guarantees about what or who you will attract.
Anyway, cool thread, cheers!
