Orcs better than human warriors?
I just noticed that Orcs have jewelry slots free. Hence - given that high-end jewelry adds oodles of stats - are Orcs far superior to human warriors? (And could the same be true of Goblins or Dwarves - neither of whom I've recruited yet?) If not, then am I missing something that human warriors brings to the table?

With the exception of the crafting skill, I think you'll find that most species are superior to humans in one way or another. Elves obviously excel at ranged combat, orcs wtfpwn ♥♥♥♥, a goblin boss is a beast, goblin shamans are nice to have around if you don't have a medic, critters are good for cannon fodder, etc.

How do human warriors compare to Goblin or Orc warriors you get stat-wise, if you ignore the extra jewelry slot issue altogether? Do they generally have better stats, too? - or is it comparable?

It also seems like the ghost is immortal, as long as the party survives. My ghost got to 0 HP at least a dozen times, but she always comes back.

Now I am thinking about building demon and beast-attracting buildings to see what they are like. Unit attraction buildings stack, right? That is, if I build 4-5 dwarf-attracting buildings, then they I will have greater chance of spawning a dwarf then having merely 1?

Ghosts are cool, orcs and gobbies are better, especially a Goblin Boss. Man, that guy just wtfpwns everything with a warhammer.

I got a few goblins, warrior and shaman. They have very low HP, lower than Human Fighters, like 7. But the Gob warrior has a default 21 shielding, so he is very tanky. So if the Gob Boss is even better, then its just clearly superior than Humans.

Give him some nice armor and he's superior than my Human Fighters due to the large shielding bonus.

Got orcs too, they are flat out better warriors, with the trinket slot.

Elves are great too, they retain their Piercing damage if you equip them with Swords or Axes. Think an Elf with a big 2 handed Axe attacking on playing the card, and slotting in first in the fight. It's very strong.

Goblins and orcs are better than a low level human, but not a high level one. They don't scale as well and certainly don't develop as many side abilities.

What do you mean? They get less stat points per level?

What about Elves and Dwarves then?
Miradus Nov 29, 2015 @ 4:41pm
I'm not sure about what they get per level. Just when I get them I have a mix of veterans and rookies and the comparison is more visible then.

I've never gotten enough elves and dwarves to speak much about them. Dwarves are tough and elves are sort of like really good hunters. Best I can say.

Warriors are very focused, they have a very short list of class abilities and so they scale up real fast. Typically a veteran warrior will have over 20 strength. Orcs and Dwarves are very strong by default when you get them, but that's the kicker: they're rare. Getting them is the hard part. Warriors you can obtain pretty quickly with the help of children, and children are really easy to obtain with cabbage farm spam. But yeah... as a single unit?, freshly recruited?, the other races tend to be better.

how do you get a ghost?
lmlsna Nov 29, 2015 @ 5:22pm
Orcs and Dwarves are typically better at combat when at a similar level to the human warrior in question, though usually human warriors are at a higher level due to them being with you from the beginning. As far as demons and beasts, some are extremely strong, and some are useless weak cannon fodder. I have not gotten much in the way of elves yet, so I don't know much about them, though I hear they are great hunter type characters. With goblins, I would say that goblin bosses are better than human warriors, shamans are helpful for getting more magic in the party, but warriors and boar riders are not particularly good, and they definitely don't scale up with level as much as humans, or other races for that matter. I may be wrong, as my experience with non-human races is a bit limited, and there is always a bit of randomization in stats.

Quests. There are no ways to attract them via buildings that I know of.

Attract demons will sometimes provide some wraithlike creatures

I've recruited goblins at turn 300+ that were flat out superior to my human warriors. Lots of useless side skills since I focus on active combat over hunting, tactics, sneak etc.

Hi, just to pitch in, everyone gets the same amount of points on lvl up, but some classes/species have more skills than others, and so they may not increase the 'warrior' skills as fast as straight up human warrior will. Hope this helps.

Could you release info on the normal allotted skills of other frequently recruited races/creatures? That would help a lot in recruiting decisions! ;)
