Weapons - blunt vs other

Is it me or does it seem like blunt weapons are really weak. Best I've seen so far is like 7 bdamage for a 2 hander. Is the special ability that good? Pierce seems a little better but slash seems to have all of them beat.

What am I missing?

Why aren't you keeping a hard-hitter combatant and appropriate First Action support until the opponent runs out of all cards, then?

It's not like you can't skip a turn without placing any card.

I often keep a heavy hitter back so I can throw him in at the last minute and first action him up to the front. Then I scream at the computer, "Booyaaa! Skyrim is for the Nords!"
