Cabbage patch suggestion.
While I like the idea of the cabbage patch.
(maybe some younger players don't get the reference ;p)

It makes little sense that it doesn't generate some kind of food (likely veggies)
Then again between pasture and patch that could be op, no idea.

Agree. I was thinking it would be interesting if the vegetable/fruit/resource you used as the ingredient to build it became the resource it output (slightly) once built.
That would be a great way to bring in a different food source.

You mean, because they are too young to not remember the origin of the lore of babies found in cabbage fields? Not sure of any human thus old still lives. ;)
Was also refering to the dolls known as cabbage patch kids ;p
(whether the devs intened this idk)
I think they are referring to Rus lore where male babies are born in cabbage patches and female babies are born in roses.
Wait, are you saying that's NOT where babies come from?

The kids found in cabbages is not exclusive to Russian lore. The game in fact is based on Slavic lore, which Russian lore is a part of.
I think that the cabbage patch kids was also directly influenced by this (and yes, I remember the adverts on the telly but never owned one :P).
But returning the the original point - it would make sense for the cabbage field to give veggies as well. In fact that was the original intention but it must have slipped.
cabbage patch kids is a result of the Slavic mythology having most of the parts common for numerous of countries (similar in Rus as in other countries as far as France).

According to the lore kids were found among the cabbage or brought by the stork. In some variations it was split by child sex between cabbage and roses. Some stories were even talking about other field food but we chose cabbage fields ;)
it was intentional, but as you can see child can be male or female from the field so its not exactly cabbage and roses ;)

The truth is that when slavic mythology was the strongest, literacy was very weak in the region and there is almost none of the written stories from that time. Oral propagation of it made huge mutations leaving only essence of the story but changing setting and elements to fit better region it was told in.

Your wife develops games with you? Gross! Get a room! Kidding aside, that's a nice tidbit to know, I hope you guys the same (or more?) success like the couple who did mount and blade.
Ah yes, its great to work together. MuHa games is a family business ;) so everyone no further than godfather of our children XD yes creepy :P.
I spend endless hours playing in computer games and paper rpgs with those folks before we start doing our own games XD... and we keep playing of course.
The solution is simple. Make corpses usable as food and burning for production. Times are desperate. Light cannibalism never hurt anyone and burning bodies saves a lot of space. Little Timmy might not have made it to adulthood but he lives on inside of all of us and the leftovers made for a nice warm fire. So others may live!
Corpses are not a good fuel source.
You can use leftover bones for crafting!
Of course. But a human corpse still is not a good fuel source. :)

You can use parts from it (more specifically; fat) but if you want to burn the corpse as a whole, you have to put more energy in it, than it delivers in reverse.

It further doesn't make that much sense realism-wise. In history - even in extreme situations - humans avoid such solutions on the basis of empathy and piety. Cases of cannibalism are actually pretty rare and nearly only occure if persons in need see a chance that they will be rescued within the time they are buying with this act.

So imho it wouldn't really fit the setting of the game.
