So when will all gods be auto-unlocked?
So when are all the gods going to be unlocked when somebody buys this game? The Long Dark unlocked all its levels when they realized folks weren't getting past Mystery Lake and not playing after that.

Any idea when this game's going to unlock them all? I'd like to see more and do more beyond grinding the lower-tier gods for ages hehe.

I would say it probobly is not going to do that and honestly I hope they dont as it will take away some of the fun of actually earning the gods I mean if we auto unlock them we might as well remove their levels too at that point just give us all their abilites right away :/

Hi.

No auto unlocks for the Gods I'm afraid. It would indeed defeat the point of gathering xp etc.

Please never.

I have to disagree with your view here: it's about 3 victory games at 100% difficulty with God quest complete for you to unlock all Gods. That can hardly be called a grind - if you feel the game is grinding in 3 games then most likely having more gods available at higher levels won't really make a difference for you.

Can we at least have a way to unlock more by only playing the gods we like? I am never going to play gods I dislike the concept for or have mechanics unsuited to my playstyles.

Yes I get that the point is to require you to approach the game in different ways but in any game I ever play I find a few approaches I like, refine then and enjoy the game in such a fashion. Its like forcing me to play stealth characters in an RPG to unlock more swords. I'm not going to do it, and I'm just going to get discouraged from the grind much more quickly.

I don't want to play the evil night god or the underworld god of knowledge and sucking at fighting, but some of the others interest me and if I could get them via Zorya I would.

If there's no mod, cheat, or other option for alternate or unlocked progression I'll probably just get bored with the game after only experiencing like 1/10 of its content, because some of the content I'd like is gated behind stuff I have no desire for.

Personally i like how Thea force somehow the game to be different. For me it's exactly the opposite, i would be bored if i wouldn't be pushed in other direction in addiction to what i prefer. And anyway after the "unlock" there is always the possibility to go back to my favourite god.
Just a suggestion: everytime you start a new profile the 2 starting gods change, maybe you can try them that way without playing the others.

And i really hope they will NEVER unlock them all automatically like the OP said

TBH it's a grind for me to unlock the other gods, but I enjoy the game so much that I don't mind doing it.

I didnt know that! Guess I got lucky with zorya in my opening 2 then, thanks for the tip I'll try this.

I think that the sexiness of playing a new god could be ramped up a bit. Choosing a god is perfect at the beginning, when you have two weak gods, and at the end where you have 8 fully powered and very different gods.

What would you make of xp unlocking the 1-5 power scale globally instead of by god? Right now, unlocking a new god and seeing them have an identical power to one you just used is pretty lame. The different quest and events are there too, but that is hidden sexiness to a new player.

well sure global levels ? then each level should be the total combined exp needed to level of all the gods so you know level 1 you now would need x6 the exp etc .....
seriously I am takeing my time and have had little truble unlocking any of the gods I do not see what people have so many problems about :/ I mean you could easily enough just play some easy difaculty fast games and get it done in a day or two (waste of a good game though)

So I just got to lvl 4 with Zorya, and this unlocked a new god to my delight! Even better, Lada was one of the gods I was interested in playing so I look forward to that.

However, if leveling to 4-5 unlocks a new god each time this really should be stated somewhere.

AFAIK to be able to use Lada you just need to get a Cosmic Tree victory with any god. Other people have reported that levelling to 4-5 does not unlock another god, so unless that has changed, you just must have completed a Cosmic Tree victory and thus got to use Lada.

Yes, that follows but is also very random.

I'm kind of surprised we have to unlock the gods at all. I'm used to Civ where you can play any faction you want, whenever you want. The idea of most of them hidden -- instead of the other way around -- seems backwards to me. Still, if it is easy to unlock some variety, OK.

It sounds like there are other unlock mechanisms besides xp so that's good. But do they all need to finish a game? I like to play a game until it's no longer fun--whether that's before it ends or after it ends (using "keep playing" mode). So I'm glad you still get some xp, at least.

I enjoyed the way the unlocks were set up. There were a couple of dieties that I didn't want to play either, and one or two interesting suprises. For instance did you know that Veles is the God of the elves and has the greatest magic advantages?

I use a lot of imagination when I am playing Thea. For example, if I am playing Lada whom I don't particulary like, I could imagine that several of my young villagers were chafing under Lada's rule and wanted to be able to go out and fight (warrier start definately)...perhaps at the cosmic tree choice, I would decide the age of reason was the better option.

Meh, I've never liked the concept of "earning" content in a game. I paid money to "earn" the content. I don't mind the leveling concept itself for them, but not being able to choose which god to play is pretty lame.

I have a pretty hectic schedule and lack endless hours to put into my games. I want to enjoy every minute I get as much as possible. Having to "work" to unlock content in a game is counterproductive.

And I have a really hard time understanding how allowing me to choose which god I play right from the start could possibly diminish anybody else's enjoyment of the game. Feel free to level up every one of them if that's your fancy. I simply don't have that kind of time.

A cheat code for us non-grinders would be nice. I don't want a "full unlock" with all the levels, because I'd actually like to level up the gods I want to play. I'm just not sure who it's supposed to be benefiting to force me to play gods I don't want to in order to unlock those I do.
