(one can check in details in tutorial page: card-minigame challange skills)
E.g. to do a damage to an opponent in "fight" type mini game you need "damage" attribute
However in social interaction the "damage" attribute does not mater;
In social interaction damage is equal to the "speech" attribute.
In case of hunting damage is equal to the "gathering" attribue.
If your party does not have gatherers/scouts you may have not a single character which does damage in hunting. So one can lose even one skull challage.
Then there are secondary attributes, which are played from your tactic deck
(right part of the battle screen) e.g. to support your ally in hunting you need "ranged attack"
after playing the "range attack" is added to the "gathering" attribute of your right most character on the battle field (BTW. to get a "range attack" attribute character should have e.g. a bow/crossbow. If you have no character on the battle field you cannot play it)
Some secondary skills works as above by adding attack/defence, but many works as levels test.
e.g. in order to 'confuse' monster in hunting (confused charcters loses 1st combat turn) you need to have "traps" attribute equal/higher than the level of the monster (shown on the card).
BTW. In case you have level 1 trap but monster is level 2, game will simply not allow you to play this card for "trap" attribute.
My assumption was that the tutorial would give me characters with the ability to at least complete the tutorial and that it would help me understand how. Isn't that the point of a tutorial?
The rest? Sub-sub par. I certainly would not understand how you can't understand how the card game is played tho. It is about the easiest part of the game to figure out. There is next to no substance in it. And you better get used to it because that's 90% of all what you are going to see all game since the whole game is a serie of those card games over and over.
