Marriage event
So, after I got the DLC, I played again, and got one of the (I'm assuming) new events where 2 people in my village got married.

Afterwards, 2 people in the village got a large quantity blessing, and the flavor text made it sound like those were the two involved. A child was located in the cabbage patch immediately afterward.

Err... is there any checks on how those 2 are chosen? I mean, it's nice that my villagers are forward thinking enough that my female gatherer and my Vily are able to hook up to everyone's blessing, but... I think my Dwarven Smith is giving looks to the Fat Rat now, and I'd like to stop this a bit ahead of time.

Gave me a Chuckle, but I would assume random members hook up with whoever.

It's a free society, anyone can love whom they want ;)

*cough* I had a mouthful of wine when I read your last sentence and nearly snorted it out of my nose. I do wish we could choose a volunteer for some events, instead of my rat going off to make babies and leaving the village. Still a strange romance, but it was nice getting 3 kids out of it.

Reminds me of the southpark episode of P.E.T.A

Kids come from cabbage patches, tree trunks, wilderness "encounters" with the undead, and cats and wolves fighting... I don't see a problem here.

Characters have a gender tag, so I assume it picks at least a male and a female. The rat might be safe from your dwarf, unless its a girl rat.

Naaaaa, it picks two males, or two females, or even cross species.... Thea is a very accepting place.

The one that actually happened in my game was female gathere and vily, which i assume to be female based on... err, the portrait, so...

i was gonna say it sounded dumb in a fight for survival paradigm but since babies appear by magic it seems there are no genders and its furry paradise.

Rather old thread but,

In the Xas-Love mod, I made,
I have created diverse Marriage between Races.
Those Humans, Elf, Orc and Goblin main classes, still could cross breed, by Wed, Wait, and Birth with a low chance.
Upon that, there are also events which only Elf-Elf, Orc-Orc, Goblin-Goblin, Demon-Demon could bond and reproduce.
Not to interfere with any of the games event and mechanics, no altering to the existing Birth system, my events are set at low chance.

I had a marriage event, the whole village got drunk and had a 8 turn (might have been 7) hangover/heavy illness stat whacked on it. Must have been some party.
