Random enchants on rings/artifacts
I could have sworn that back when I played this gems gave proper, fun, random enchants to artifacts and rings but a friend (and the wiki) say they don't.

Did this get taken out? When? Why? I could see a rebalance, but entirely random rings and artifacts made them actually worth making.

Im going to end up rebuying the game for my new computer eventually, the devs really deserve support, but I might also download an old version from "unofficial sources" if that's really been taken out.

Random enchantments from gems are for weapons and armor only. I don't think it ever gave random enchantments to jewels or artifacts but it certainly doesn't in the current build. They are still worth making though, many of them give very useful bonuses that also help you outside of fights and warriors can now use jewels as well.

The fixed stats on artifacts and rings isn't so bad. It makes them worth the time and RP to craft fairly early on in the game. If you want to grind gem bonuses, you can still do that all through mid to late game with weapons, shields, and armor/clothes. Plus, there's always the Good Quality random outcome that can help nicely.

The original version of Thea was quite nicely set up in its own way, but you should give the new version a try. It's different, and on the whole, better, even if you do end up missing little things here and there.

Why would you need to buy the game again for a new computer? You just need to reinstall. Also rings and artifacts didn't have random gem effects. This looks like a clever attempt at trying to get an illegal copy of the game...
