Turn 53, not a single child has grown?
I'm pretty new at this game, but I'm on turn 53 now, and I've lost one of my people, but I still haven't had a single child grow, person join the village, nothing. I have a well, manger and pasture. Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks!

It happens. Heck, sometimes you can get the real short end of the stick and have no grown children at like Turn 100. Or have some monster carry off all your children. I'd say it's not the norm, but those games can be frustrating when they occur for sure.

In your case, I'd work towards a Cabbage Patch, not for the kids but will add more human attraction. Ditto for Meeting Hall.(Since you have Well already). If you can build with Grain, it'll push it further. Just stacking up that Human attract should get some people coming in even if they are usually low-level garbage.

I get no prob with Childs but I ALWAYS take some in my first party. If I have 4 at start or 6 if I choose Crafters I always share them in Inventory to put 2 or 3 in the party. And I noticed it's pretty always these childs who grow up and never those in the village. very weird :/

What's interesting is if you hit "view party" it'll show your village group during the growing up event, but like you said, it's usually the expedition party child that grows up. Sometimes messes me up because I'd want a sage or something in my expedition, but a crafter at home, but no way to tell. I just assume it's the expedition always now.

I think this is a bug/feature. Out of 10 children grown, 9 were in the party, even if the village had ~20 children, while the party had 1 or 2. Fortunately they seem to get bonuses from village buldings.

Unfortunately, usually by the time I've got two or more buildings giving bonuses/classes, no children grow, because there is "overpopulation" (decreasing chance of children growing). Thus I got most of my villagrs from events. I've never got a witch, for example, because I build totem too late.

Children growing up event is a global event, meaning it doesn't have a specific group it belongs to, and is triggered only when you have at least one child somewhere in any of your groups. When it is resolved, one child is picked from a random group that had it and an adult character is given in its place. The odds of kids growing up from an expedition are no greater than those in the village, assuming you have equal number of children in each. If you have 5 kids in the expedition and 1 in the village, then naturally chances of a child being picked from the expedition are greater (5/6). But as far as our programming department is concerned, an expedition is in no way special and has no additional influence on chances of the event appearing.

@Saiko Kila - are you saying the party had 1 or 2 kids plus 20 in the village and after the growing up events 9 of 21 children ended up as adults in the party? If that is the case then it indeed would be a bug.

It seems like a bug to me. Children always (I think) grow up in an expedition if there is one. Assuming you have children in both the village and expedition.

As far as I "ve played till now I can confirm there is something weird cause I always split chidren between party and town. And got a lot of children with some events like refuggees or slavers. In the last game (not ended yet and near 300 turns) I got more than 10 who grow up in the party and none in the village. (Veles, 296 turns, 31 people, Dif 145%).

You know, I can't remember the last time I had a child grow up in village. I'm currently playing as Veles and over 300 turns. I keep getting children are sick and children go missing with a new child in their place (great to get more elves). Not a one just regularly grew up.

Yes, children in the village grow up much slower then in expeditions.I put them in the village asap.

Playing Co-Op.

Turn 36, i was up to 5 children.
Turn 120, none of my 5 have grown up.
Other player had no children until turn 70, got 3 and adult (refugee event), then 1 in 74, then a 5th in 86. Has had 3 of the 5 grown up between 86 and 120 (averaging about 15 days).

Definitely frustrating. I might assume we share the same maturity chance, but then wtf was with turn 36-70 with no kids growing up?

It works!
well, i start a new game and put 3 child into expedition. 2 of them grows up in first 30 turns, and one child in the village remains to be child. Sorry for my bad english.

Yes, now I always get the children with me in expedition. Plus they are safe with the expeditions which it's not the case in the village with so many bad events ;p
