opinions on dragon bone?
Hey guys I have usually avoided getting this because of its expense and weight. Are there any players that like to go for it?

Pros/cons to it?

it makes the best axes for elves and also strength belts off the top of my head. plus since enchanted bones makes +5 magic shields i tend to go a bit down that line anyways.

Cons: good luck getting it

Pros: makes excellent weapons, makes +str artifact

If you have elves, make some 2-handed axes out of dragon bone and ancient wood. Proceed to murder everything.

I'm not sure why you think weight is an issue. Give the quality of armor/weapons Dragon Bone produces, you are going to equip them on your warriors. By mid game they should have a high enough carry capacity to handle the weight. Your medics and sages are going to want stuff made with spidersilk or mithril reinforced with gemstones or scaled leather. To directly answer your question, I never deliberately seek out dragonbone, but I am excited when I get it as a reward. I am very careful to make sure I craft exactly what I need from it.

So wait...do elves wield 2-handed axes in one hand?
Yeah, I always go for moonstone, dragon bone and mithral in my gathering tree. I never consider weight.

ohhhhh, that's right. They always get piercing damage.

I also like making those 1H axes out of Dragon Bone and Ancient Wood, though I generally hold off until I've got the other costly resources.

It's definitely among the best resources. Dragon bone weapons do massive damage, and the +4 Strength Artifact is great. I typically don't tech into Dragon Bones, though. You always have a ton of Monster Bones (so teching into them as a pre-req feels like a wasted point), and you need some serious luck to spawn dragon bones in an accessible location. I don't like gambling in Thea; I'd rather spend the few tech points that I have on sure things like new crafts and buildings.

There's a pretty common expedition event that yields a dozen or so dragon bones, and that's where I get most of my bones. Your party stumbles across a dragon corpse and can harvest the bones if you're brave enough. Tough fight... but great rewards.

Dragonbone+Mithril accessory is one of the most important items for new characters. Why?

Because it gives them strength so they can carry a full set of items (instead of 100 weight limit). Also it seems like if they have strength bonuses they tend to level up strength more.
