holy hog?
Ok, I just got a message saying I received a "holy hog". shows in my journal even.

but I see no holy hog in my village.

is it just a regular meat hog that starts a quest, or was there actually supposed to be a beast recruit that appears in my village?

because if it's supposed to be a recruit, I have to report a bug... there is no recruit.

(it's just a bad description of the event, yeah, I know).

It is not a recruit, it is an 'event' that leads to other 'events'

I always figured it was meant to be more like an icon so it always made sense to me for it not to a character.

If i remember correctly you see references to it quite often (It gives you stuff because its a holy hog) swaps to textbook/notebook > shows picture > more holy hog thankful-ness etc etc
He just chills in your village being a holy hog. Doing his thing, Be grateful :P

The holy hog is a flavour text, or abstraction, like in the events you supposedly have the fishermen or people tending to fields, even if you don't catch fish, and there are no fields in the game. Or sick children (how a resource can become sick?). If there was a hog, it would probably be similar to a giant wild boar. But boars are not much useful in the village, while they tend to get slaughtered when in a party.

no... what I'm talking about is the very first time you get the message. it specifically says you are granted a hog, and you accept it gratefully.

really. it says that. that is the point.

Yes, and you ARE granted a hog. The text never said it would obey you and perform tricks like a lap dog. It's a HOLY hog, mate. :D
