Tech well digging not appearing

Im pretty sure it doesnt appear when you have a region without natural water. Two of my colonies died like that.
So I guess you need a water collector AND a higher demand in water than production. Seems really odd.

After putting enough water collectors to sleep so i got a deficit on a shore city the tech came. So i guess you need water collectors + water deficit for the tech to show up.

It will inevitably come, you don't need to starve your population. Tests by multiple players have shown it has little effect.

if u only put one water in the start of the game and no more, u have a bigger chance of getting it.

Well, they will inven the idea when they need it. So if you have plenty of water collectors why should they need inventing wells. If you start a new settlement and then only place one water collector should trigger it too. There are some other idears which work the same way

I lost two colonie on spots without any water and I never got the idea. When i disabled all water collectors except one in my main city it came up after a couple seconds. Thats why I think it only appears when you have at least one collector and not enough water in a place.

Just tried this. Destroyed all but one of my water collectors in my main city of 500+. Finally got the idea to pop up after just 5 minutes on speed 1x
