FM Update 16.2.0 - FM2016 fails to start
In case this helps anyone else, After downloading the update and trying to re-start FM2016 it then failed to start with a "missing Executable" message. Deleting the Appcache didn't work, but verifying the files did. Just thought I'd share.......

This on a windows 10 64 bit machine.

Untill you restart Windows, FM will always seems to be running. Restart, uninstall and download again... I've just tried, and now it works...

Hi Vashna - sorry I'm fairly computer illiterate!!! 1. Do you mean restart, uninstall and download the whole of steam? 2. Are all my saved games held on a steam cloud? that will be there are playable when I reinstall? 3. Mine says 'program already running' - even thou it isn't? Will this still fix it?

It's been 5 hours why is there no moderator answering to this topic with solutions?

For the unsavvy in computers :)

1. On mac or windows, right click (windows) / two finger tap (mac) and click properties.
2. Click local files.
3. Click verify integrity of game cache.

If everything checks out, try running the game again.

If it says the game is already running.... On windows open your task manager (right click the taskbar aka the bar on the bottom of the screen containing the start button and current time) and click task manager. Look for "Steam Client Bootstrapper", click it and then click End Task. Now try running the game again.

If your on a Mac and the game is already running.... Click the Apple menu, click Force Quit, select Steam and click Force Quit; and try running the game again.

If you've done all that, and it still doesn't work.... It would be best to try reinstalling the game.

In Steam,
1. On mac or windows, right click (windows) / two finger tap (mac) and click properties.
2. Click local files.
3. Click Delete Local Game Content. Yes, this deletes the game.
4. Restart the computer now <-- important.
5. Go to your Steam library.
6. Search for Football Manager 2016 in the search, and click it when it appears.
7. Install.
8. Try playing now.

If it still doesn't work... Then complain here: http://community.sigames.com/forumdisplay.php/519-Football-Manager-2016-Bugs-Forum :)

Thanks Dasherk😄 I've tried the other options so I'm down to 'delete local game content'!!! One last question - Is this going to lose my saved FM2016 games?

Come to think of it, that's possible... so go here: C:\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2016\games and back up those files.

edit: just a note, some games don't delete save game folders and some do... I've never had to uninstall FM which is why I'm not sure but I wouldn't be too worried. In the future, you could use the Steam cloud save to back them up too.
