Loyalty Bonus?

Excuse my ignorance, but what and how do loyalty bonuses work in fm19?

It's bonus money that is paid out over the life of the contract. If you had a player with a $100k loyalty bonus signed for 4 years, they would get an extra $25k each year in addition to their salary, goal bonus, unused sub fee, etc. I believe that extra $25k/year is split into a weekly bonus so you're not paying him a lump sum of $25k all at once.

If you sell the player, you have to pay the remainder of the loyalty bonus. If you sell him after 2 years, you'd owe him $50k.

I find that many players do not know the meaning of loyalty and push hard for a transfer and my club gets penalised!
