Critical crashing in act 4

This is not particulary a question but just a rant. (unless someone else have had this same situation then I'm interested)

I was talking to those x-files guys in arcade game hall when suddenly screen went black and display card fans started to spin faster and making noise. I could still hear by the music that game was still running. Tried some key combos and stuff until I think my PC just shut down.

Restarted PC and saw briefly Windows logo but then just black screen again with some tiny pixel glitch. Mildly scared by then... Forced shutdown the PC this time and waited few minutes hoping this game just didn't FRY my display card.

Ok, Windows started fine and trying to see Event logger about wtf just happened but couldn't find clear reason.

As I never learn from my mistakes - I continued playing. Talked again to those Mallory&Mike x-files dudes. Luckily this time didn't crash. But few minutes later it did exactly the same and now I was just idling. Two times in a row and I'm definitely sure crashing was caused by the game.

I'm so incredibly pissed off. I already disliked this game but now it started crashing too.
