Mad TV?
I absolutely loved Mad TV back in the day, this seems to have borrowed the visuals wholesale.

How close is it to Mad TV gameplay-wise?

It is a LOT like Mad Tv !
It still misses some features from Mad TV (which are on the devs ToDo list) but it also adds several new features which are mostly very well designed.

If you liked Mad TV, you will very probably like this too.

You dont marry the girl though !

It is pretty much MadTV with the addition of social groups from M.U.D. TV., which adds more difficulty and also so called marketing blocks which basically add "buffs" to your schedule as in more viewers.

Well it sure looks the part, if not a remake then at least a very obvious homage.

I shall have to throw money at this and find out.

Empire TV tycoon is only a clone of MAD TV? OK, the game is very fun, i don't have "empire TV tycoon" but i play with MAD TV when i was child and if is a clone i know this is a good game. But i think in 2015 maybe the players can have some better than a 1991 game.

Nope... not a pure clone... it adds a lot to the idea... f. ex. you just dont need the right amount of viewers, to get the advertising going, you have to look at the right taget audience... and thats just one example... great game to me... i guess you won't be disappointed

I'll second that, it's got the looks and the gameplay but it's all fleshed out a bit more more i.e in Mad tv it was allways a crapshoot for me what kind of audience i'd get, in this game it's not only made plainer but feels like it's more a functional part of the strategy element.

The only thing asbent gameplaywise seems to be the gathering news articles which now more or less is replaced by publicity and advertising and the placing of satelites and such i haven't seen though perhaps i haven't gotten that far yet.

Visually i've only seen the female audience member occasionally comment on the programming, i'd like it if they all did that and conversely the distinct animations of indifference, like and dislike of Mad tv are either absent or i've failed to notice them. ( big part of the charm imo )

Overal i think if you enjoyed Mad tv odds are you'll have a good time with this.

not close, the game is not bad, but lacks the charisma of Mad tv, for example you had your office and every room had artwork or background. This game lacks this, you see everything from afar and in the mad tv, you saw things from each unique room the game had to offer. Also the interface or UI hearts your eyes. But i still have hopes for Empire tv tycoon, the devs seem eager to improve the game...and they are only 2 guys.
