1.3 Progress

Hello all. We just wanted to let you know that we still working hard on the next game patch, currently we are focusing all efforts on finishing the biggest and most complex of the new patch features, the antennas system.

With the new antenna system you will be able to buy one antenna each 75 fame points and each antenna have two main purposes. The first is to increase your channel potency which increases your maximum possible viewers (instead of the current upgrade item that you buy). The second purpose is to attract specific audience groups to watch your channel, making it possible to specialize your channel even further in your prefered audience groups or movie genres.

Currently this is fully working in the internal testing game version and we are tweaking all the values and other things that are going to change (like ads) due to this new system.

Also we have set the ground for 3 new types of movies/shows that we will introduce in the next patch, those are: cult movies, +16 movies and XXX movies. Without going too much in the details:
- Cult movies have a huge bonus (that makes them more attractive) to all audiences that will likely wouldn't watch them because of the movie genre.
- +16 movies have a small bonus to adult audiences, but children shouldn't watch them.
- XXX movies have a huge bonus to certain audiences, but others don't like it. Those movies shouldn't be scheduled before late night.
And of course, you will be able to produce them!

Well, those aren't the only features of the 1.3 patch (we have more planned) but it's what we are currently working on.

We expect the have the 1.3 patch done by march, the sooner the better. It's a big one ;)


---------- March 7 Update -----------

Hello all. The two of us are still working hard on the 1.3 patch, everything is going pretty well so far, but the bad news are that we will need a little more time to finish it, and we expect to release the patch in April. The main reasons for the delay are that the patch is becoming really huge (it's like an expansion), also we decided to add more translations for the game and finally, this week I have to undergo an eye surgery that will keep me away from the PC for few weeks.

The good news
The 1.3 patch feels like an improved edition of the game or an expansion, in terms of changes or new content. So what we have done in the patch 1.3:

- The antenna system(explained above) is fully working, improving the game progression pace and adding options to customize your viewers over time.
- We reworked how ads work, they now work with the audience % based on your channel potency(you upgrade it with antennas), now ads are more clear of what you need to do to complete them. Also we have added over 50 new ads in the game to make things more varied and interesting.
- As mentioned early, we wanted to introduce cult and xxx content, but we didn't want to stop there so we improved the system and now we will have glamour, cartoons and anime content!. Those are not new movie genres, those are special types of content that gives a bonus to normal movies making them even more liked by specific audience groups, this adds another layer of options and possibilities on top of the movie genre types. To give a clear example, now you can have Action <anime> content like "One punch man", Horror <anime> content like "Monster", Sports <anime> content like "Captain Tsubasa", etc,,, and the same with <xxx> and <cartoons>.
- We are currently working on the movie archive, that will archive the result of your previous productions making it easier for the player to remember and learn where to put the points in the movie production.
- We have added over 200 new movies and tv shows.
- And also with 1.3 Patch we are translating the game to French, Russian and Portuguese.


---------- April 5 Update -----------

Hello all, just a fast update. I am recovering very well from an eye surgery and i am back to work, the patch is pretty much done and we are waiting for the final translations, also we are finishing the last touches to the second seasons,

We finished the movie archive feature and we are very pleased with it.

For the XXX movie or shoe children accidantely watch you should have some kind of people complains or stuff.

completely agree we should have cartoons for children audances not just fantasy movies.

Well that looks really promising. It will be hard to keep just 30 productions in your posession with all these new things (I like to keep the stuff I produce... especially when it's a 9.6 production because I'm apparently awesome at making documentaries).

Reading this, and seeing the level of dev interaction with the community on the forums has sealed my decision in buying this game. Phenomenal and so very rare to see devs communicating effectively with their community and really caring about the game, that's ksp level interaction.
