Autofire settings for Maniac scoring (+1.5 Maniac Max question)
Relevant to both Normal and 1.5 because screw constant tapping.

I'm using Rapid Shot with a trigger length of 2, interval 5, and that seems to be working very very nicely for 1.5 Maniac.

I have to switch this to Trigger length 1, interval 10 for Normal Maniac, is this right? The timing for the slow A tapping seems a lot slower...

Has anyone played around with this and gotten better and more reliable settings?

Also in regards to Maniac MAX scoring on 1.5, are there any tapping scoring methods in place for child counter banking or is it literally just holding the fire button, point blanking what you can and raising the counter without the stupidly arbitrary tap mechanics?

Autofiring is for chumps. Just hold C if you want rapid fire.....

I read on a ♥♥♥ wiki that optimal settings for 360 ver. are t:3,i:2 for A+ and t:1,i:2 for C+.

More infos about maniac/ultra scoring can be found on sys11 (done by EOJ)

Relevant to my interests, I was looking into this ealier today since I want to start playing maniac.

One thing I didn't get was the functional difference between A+ and C+, I'm assuming they're used for pretty much the same and having both buttons just let's you store 2 different frequencies to use at different ranges.

Following the RAM quote on Icarus' guide, I was using t:10 for point blank range (on A+) and t:20 for almost fullscreen (on C+), didn't mess with interval. It works and I get the flickering counter, but it seems to stay on red a bit longer than necessary, compared to the stuff I've seen on superplays. Using A.I's settings from the post above I don't get the counter changing to red at all, maybe I'm doing something wrong.

All this was with W-Power, the settings for other shots might be different, I don't know.

Raven, my findings precisely match yours - I set my counter to t:1 i:10 and I was able to get the flickering counter.

It turns out I was COMPLETELY overthinking Maniac 1.5 however, as there's a complete absense of tapping mechanics. This is only relevant to Maniac Normal, so I'm wondering where the t:3 i:2 settings come into it. Hmmmmm.

The frequencies I mentioned for A+ is for the powershot, (hold C and A+), which is used to deal more damage and boosts the counter faster than regular A+C. it's not very effective with M power from my experience
The slow A tapping can be done manually, and I haven't tested the C+ settings myself yet, but some friend tried it and it was flickering just fine.

edit: tried C+ on the st2 bushes and it rockets just fine, no flickering though.
Hmmm, might want to trade that powershot A+ setting for a SAT one.

Also, just saw a video on nico of some guy using t:2,i:13 for SAT and t:2,i:2 for FCT.
Will try that later.

After reading the wiki again and testing external autofire in xpadder, the best setting for powershot is t:1 i2 for W-Power and t:3 i:2 for S-Power. I use a 5.0 p sec autofire for Slow A tap, but t:2 i:8 seems to work just as good (I used the st2 mid boss as reference while being at the bottom of the screen)
For the rapid C skyrocket, 2:2 seems to work best so far, but still nowhere as good as this

Just played a game with your settings (W-Power A+1:2 C+2:2) and I'm not sure I should be worrying about this until I actually learn to point blank big enemies and farm bushes without dying.

I mainly trained maniac stage 2 for testing purposes and am having a bad time with point blanking myself, but with powershot and rapid C on bushes as well as slow A tapping on midboss I can get my counter to 60k past it and reach both extends easily, although I drop a lot afterwards. It's worth using IMO.

Still no idea how to get C skyrockets like in the replay I linked in my last post, or like the current #1 in 1.0 maniac.
