[Question] Difference between simplified and traditional Chinese?
What is the sound difference between simplified and traditional Chinese? which is the most spoken in the Chinese fighting movies? I'm asking because I'd like to configure the games' audio to the language that I often hear in Chinese films. It looks like a great game.

there is no difference phonetically. traditional chinese is the oldern form of writing where characters are a little bit more complex and harder to learn while simplified chinese is easier to learn and write.

taiwan,hk ad macau uses traditional while rest of china uses simplified. the kranji in japanese is also traditional chinese.

aside of these 2 forms of writing, there are also different dialects such as cantonese, teochew and hokkien. very few productions are made with dialect and most are made with mandarin which is another dialect but has become the 'main' dialect.

audio is the same, mandarin, the text will be different. Simplified is what Chinese use, Traditional is what Taiwanese use (correct me if im wrong) Wouldn't matter for English users.
“Taiwanese”?Taiwan is part of China. All Chinese! Understand?
Lol. Taiwan elected Tsai Ing-Wen, not Xi Jinping. Taiwan is only Chinese if the people living there want to be and they said they were Taiwanese.

im from malaysia, let me explain to you before this post go full viral.the only different between traditional chinese and simplified chinese are only in writing.you can said that simplified chinese as in what it means a simplified version of the traditional chinese.as in pronunciation, they have no differences.a simplified chinese learning like me would have no trouble listen to what a traditional chinese like taiwanese is trying to say at all.if there is a difference,it would be of culture influence, like american english and british english.now, about the chinese films that you are talking about,if you meant chinese films like jacky chan, jet li,stephen chow, chow run fat or etc, most of them are in cantonese, they are quite different from chinese in term of pronunciation, but wordwise, they are still the same, the same word are being used, and hong kong uses mainly traditional chinese.but a lot of chinese films today came from china, which is in simplified chinese.my suggest is to for a non chinese speaker like you to just ignore which is which, just chose whichever u feels like,it really doesn't matter.

Most of the old Kung fu movies are in Cantonese and are most likely from Hong Kong where they use traditional Chinese.
