English translation effort

Decided to make separate topic to maybe attract a bit more people to help the project.

Current progress is that we got a working version ready but it's in very early alpha - while majority is translated we for now kept majority of original TL and only added DLC TL - there is still some TL left to do in DLC too.
UI requires autotranslator too for now.

So now onto how you can help with the effort:

1) Obviously first thing is actual translation, anyone who is good in both chinese/english and preferably at least slightly in wuxia genre and knowing the tale of wuxia at least a bit.
We don't ask for a lot of your time - you are free to come and go whenever you wish, every line translated helps towards the common goal, all we ask is that you are certain you keep quality of translation decent enough and follow the guidelines for character names and such :)

2) Another not any less important thing is for the artists/people experienced with photoshop and similar programs - we need someone to somewhat redraw UI.
The problem is that most of the UI and menu elements that has text is actually raster graphics.. hence to 'translate it' you need to redraw the text and not simply retype it.
We currently only have people with basic knowledge of photoshop, so having help from someone more experienced would be very welcome, if not we will have to make do with much lower quality redesign than it could be.

3) Anyone proficient in transfering files from google docs to game text files and vice versa.

Thanks for your attention and I hope the project finally will get a chance to end and maybe even attract more english playerbase attention to the great developer, which is Heluo Studio that suffered from a lot of harsh law treatment but still keeps working on great wuxia games.

Update: still looking for people to help with the project,
We have done around 4% more since my last post, so while it's going stable we still need people who are good at chinese for the hardest to translate dialogues, especially ones involving chinese culture :)

Hey, I am not sure how much time I can devote but would love to contribute as I love this game. I am a Chinese and have studied abroad for around 4 years. I figure at least I can help to check whether the translation is accurate afterwards lol

Thank you all for working on this again! I would absolutely love to see this completed someday! Maybe even a project for the Tale of Wuxia: Prequel in the future too?

Tale of wuxia prequel is already in english and more or less understandable, it's not machine translated, just poor quality translated, so I doubt we will work on it further.

Had 0 issues understanding anything in it... aside of maybe DLC which could be done better but honestly it was mostly fun epic combat sequences and seeing most 'villains' in their youth.

It's hard enough translating the main game in fan translation, since again - it's among biggest chinese wuxia games both text amount and variety wise with loads of cultural references.
It's among best games for a reason - a really well done wuxia game.

does the photoshop part already done ? I may help on it if it's just redrawing and typesetting (though on super detailed pictures, it may be a bit hard to do)

Are you redoing the whole game translation or just the final update part which doesn't have English translation?

Hey not sure if you still need help with the translation but I would like to help if possible.

I am fluent in english and can read most chinese characters (i am also fluent in cantonese).

I have seen multiple tv adaptations of the original novels so I am familiar with the setting of the game and I did played through this game twice if that counts for anything

Yes, we certainly are, currently running short on people with free time due to coronavirus, so it slowed the pace down quite a bit but some Path of Wuxia translators help in free time as well.
