Game freezes on minigame at the tower hall

There is an minigame at the tower hall where you place the circle segment on to it to apparently arrange icons on 3 rings. When I place the piece on the puzzle, game just freezes. There is no crash but game does not recover from the freeze.

I have checked game integrity from properties but no luck.

I also tried to set the compatibility mode into XP SP3 and run it as admin but same results.

I'm having the same problem on the first puzzle in the game. I also can't minimize or end the program once this happens and have to restart my computer.

I was actually able to get past this later - without doing anything! I don't think there was any change into game and I did not change anything on my end, but, I tried it several months later, and this time it worked properly. Weird. Hopefully you find a solution to your problem.

I was able to install it on another computer and progress that way. No idea what's different. They have the same operating system, but oh well.
