Expert difficulty opinion
Just want to say that the Expert achievement is strange. I started a save at the absolute beginning (remember, if you have an active game, there is no choice to restart from the beginning), from the first spot you started on, and immediately changed the difficulty to Hard. Then I never touched those settings. Played the whole game. No achievement. Why not have a prompt when you step though the tree to set difficulty? How hard can it be? (get it?)

I agree, it would be nice to have a restart game button that would let you set difficulty etc.

Thanks for the post, I was about to start again for the expert achievement and would have done the same thing. I made a new profile instead and that worked...

I just did the same thing as @towerwizard. So if I start a new profile can I skip all the dialogue and puzzles and get the achievement?

In case anyone else wants to know, you can't skip the puzzles in Hard mode.

I've just done exactly the same thing and played right to the end on Hard, no achievement. Buggered if I'm doing it all for a third time. What a stupid way to implement the difficulty settings :(

I know this is old, but I came looking for this same answer.

In another game in this series the developer said to start a new profile and play though it on hard and you will receive the "Expert" achievement.

Yeah, they could have changed it by now if they had cared. It seems they do not.
