Please explain
So, I finished the game all around, and found myeself without a clue.

I'd like someone to explain me the game, as stupid as it sounds;

Why is he on death row?
What happened?

Things like that, so I can understand the plot of this very immersive game.

Please - don't leave me unanswered.

I'm not going to say much narratively, though interested in what others have to say on this. However, I can answer the first question. Their on Death Row because they're a murderer who killed people.

The rest, I'll leave up to any other users who decide to try and tackle it.

Hey buddy, good job with the game and I would like to say that it confused me a bit. The character that you play, is it human? And the girl, does it mean something else?

Err. From what I could put together, you're some mock grim-reaper who decided to kill a couple kids based off of orders for sacrifice from your sister to bring back your mother(?). The main character creature thing is placed on death row and (probably never) escapes to a subway. Then it's self consciousness seems to take the place of "The Host", as some sort of giant guilt trip? You play through your own memories in a strange order, a sort of haze that shows how not-innocent you happen to be. You experience your own innocent delusions, as some form of amnesia blocks you from figuring out that you totally slaughtered a bunch of kids because of the manipulation of a sister figure. While her name isn't actually revealed, it's assumed that your sister's name is Judith, the girl who hung herself for a sacrifice (in fact, you might be her ghost as it might be a huge split of her into various apparitions). Then there's a bit about some Simon guy...honestly I couldn't figure that out, it felt like a red herring. Perhaps that's the host's name, though he doesn't exist as a human so it doesn't make sense. When your character leaves the house after the murders (not really though, it seems to be a big trip in the head, not reality) and encounters a sort of foil character to your sister. You see her tracking (you) someone down for a reason that the main character doesn't know. As you continue though a increasingly vivid journey through your own memories and things The Host forces you to see, you learn that you aren't innocent. The mysterious girl shows up back at the Judith Manor area to claim you as the murderer, as you are, then proceeds to hunt you. (What I think is canon?) You escape from her and attempt to kill her, then you follow up on being a murderer, ending your spree by killing yourself (the death row thing is probably the main character condemning themself, not actually any physical entity), you hang yourself and the host rips you down because your guilt refuses to let you escape so easily (The host most likely is a representation of the main character's guilt and kinda the devil?) you eternally suffer for those killings and your family is kinda totally disgusting. On a side note, Valerie is most likely the mother, with Simon being the husband, killing her for cheating on her. It's probably her dead body that you find (mentioned to be buried by the sister, but not actually named), and that's honestly all I could attempt to figure out.

(I'm intentionally ignoring mention of the factory, as that is kinda just a big joke)
I hope that kinda made some form of sense? :nahkitty:

so essentially DV ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the family, which proceded to ♥♥♥♥ up other people, leading to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up guilt-trip thing.

ok.

@The Man: I think thats a pretty good theory. Although Simon still doesn't make sense to me. Him being the father makes sense in some ways, but not others. He mentions his feelings for Valerie, but I also felt like his messages to marshmallow monk were rather sexual. But I guess he could just be messed up in more ways than one.

I feel like marshmallow's sister knew that he had murderous tendencies, but accepted him because he was her brother, mentioning that she'd be fine if he killed her. But then it got a little twisted when she used marshmallow to make sacrifices for their dead mother.

The Man theory is pretty much what I think.

I have some different theory about Simon though. I think Simon and you are one and the same. Kinda split personalities. The "Simon" appears in the game is the more vicious personality, while the "marshmallow" you play is yourself trying to forget about what you are done. Simon knows everything and so, he makes you confront your acts by remembering them through the game.

However I don't think you really die. I would consider the endngs in the manor quite revealing about this fact. After you hung yourself after killing your sister you can see the shadow of "Simon", in a way I understand as the other you taking control and saving yourself of that situation (cutting the rope) and then going back to the beginning of the game. This can be clearly seen in the end where you say "you are sorry". Of course you can not kill Simon either, as he himself is just a part of you, as you try to do in other ending, just to be chased by it.

And I don't think the factory endings are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but quite the opposite. I think the alien ending symbolizes you becoming totally nuts (a way of not accepting the reality, and even so you can hear the question Simon makes you at the end about your sister), while the machine ending symbolizes what you really feel like.

I don't know the reason behind the murders, but it's something your sister decides, being the true mastermind. I believe that would be explained in some other game, but probably related with your mother. Of course, you do some kills without your sister permission, like the boy in the train, out of jealoussy.

I realize there are some gaps in my theory, but that is the best I have been able to do by playing through the game.

I have to say I enjoyed it ;)
