Hitori and Kazuaki arent the same person?

After playing the first hatoful bf, i thought that Kazuaki was just a new identity, But in one of the radio episodes, and the 4th mini episode, Hitori is treated as an entirely different character?

When you go on the new years date with Nageki, he says Hitori made him put on a scarf?

Why is Hitori a teacher in these bonus episodes? He also takes care of (what im guessing) is an orphanage?

I was confused by this as well until it was explained to me by someone else. If you have not finished playing through Holiday Star, this will be a huge spoiler so I'm going to spoiler tag the whole thing.

I will refer to Hitori/Kazuaki as either Hitori or Kazuaki. There is another Kazuaki, which I will refer to as Kazuaki-kun. It starts out like this. Hitori was in charge of the orphanage, which was Hatoful House. In BBL, Hitori was out to get revenge on Shuu because of what Shuu did to Nageki. In order to do this, he did adopt an alternate identity as Kazuaki... however this is where Holiday Star comes in and throws a twist. It is mentioned in one part of the original Hatoful Boyfriend that Kazuaki "smelled of bleach", and his excuse was that he fell asleep in the washing machine. In truth, he was bleaching his feathers white.

Kazuaki-kun was a very depressed introverted bird with severely low self-esteem. Hitori took notice of this, and "befriended" Kazuaki-kun, pretending they had a lot in common, until he finally proposed a suicide pact with Kazuaki-kun. Kazuaki-kun took the pills, however Hitori did not. He betrayed Kazuaki-kun and stole his identity. It is at this point he started bleaching his feathers white and became Kazuaki. Eventually he became the math professor at the school.

After Kazuaki-kun's death, he created the Holiday Star and became the King. When Hitori/Kazuaki ended up there due to the moon dream, Kazuaki-kun knew who he was. Hitori ended up blind and forgot his own identity, and was stuck in Okosan's pudding mountain. The destroying of identity and blinding of Hitori was in retribution to what he did to Kazuaki-kun. During the 4th chapter of Holiday Star, when the King's book is being read, there's a very angry section that is nothing but scribbles, followed by the words "You lied to me." A quail is then shown falling into flames. This is where Hitori/Kazuaki was imprisoned until Yuuya was able to find him and give him back his name.

So that is why there is "another" Kazuaki. The insecure Kazuaki in the 4th mini episode is not Hitori, but the real Kazuaki before Hitori took his identity.

Thank you! it does help! Its still really confusing how they just throw kazuaki and hitori in the radio and bonus episodes without any explanation. You also end up going on a new years date with the original kazuaki?
and when you date negeki, its implied that he never got sick, and hatoful house was never attacked, and they expect you to just?????understand that??
