Is reading the comics crucial?

They are interesting but sometimes lengthy. Is reading them required to solve the game? Thanks!

As far as I remember, the comics don't contain any essential clues. I'd recommend reading them to get the full story, but if you want to skip them, I don't think they're essential.

I skip them. they're nice set dressing and flavor for the world but you really don't miss much

You get points for doing different things so reading comics tells some story-line, plus they are cool comics.
