remember playing *when I didn't have money, and access to a debit card :p*
but I'd do anything to buy it to (re)play it
So, the music rights are up in the air, possibly owned by Mojang/Microsoft, and trying to get all of this legal mumbo-jumbo untangled would cost a pretty penny for all the parties involved, which unfortunately might not be worth the effort, considering the middling reviews of both seasons.
I mean, critic and user reviews on platforms like iMDB, Metacritic and RottenTomatoes can be summed up to "They tried. It's a bland, generic attempt to make something interesting, it's sort of a movie, your choices don't really matter that much, the story and the game was made for literal 7 year olds", and as much as I hate to say it - being very nostalgic and having enjoyed both seasons myself - they're not wrong. Would Microsoft really want to pay a lot for two games that didn't really make that much in sales? A remaster / remake / reimagining that improves the story, the characters would be nice, and then to bundle with that the old games as part of a 'complete collection' would probably make more sense. That, or leaving it to rot in limbo, as is currently the case.
The chances for anything but limbo for MCSM are very, very low IMO. We have to move on, please.
