petra gets a nether star in the beggining of the game for Lukas' beacon in the building competition which drops only from the, in this universe greatly feared, wither but she complains and doesnt know the use of a "dusty old skull"/wither skeleton head used to summon the wither both in this and in vanilla.

you have failed telltale games unless there is an explanation in the next couple episodes in that case, good job on not thinking this game would only get super little kids that won't think about plot

Same reasoning could apply to Rueben's loyalty (since pigs tend to do whatever and don't listen to others). Maybe some other adventurer summoned a normal Wither killed it and then traded the droped Nether Star to Petra without her knowing where it came from.

Actually its probably because of all the diffrent ways to do stuff in that universe I mean they create a command block I dont doubt theres more than one way to get a nether star

i guess so and it might be canon that this is all modded seeing as at endercon there are wool stairs and maybe the witherstorm is actually a fancy mob and not a command creation (which would be more difficult to program to adapt and protect itself then to follow commands(bonus pts if anyone can form a command that summons the witherstorm in vanilla))

That would take a lot of hard work and coding but it is a possibility in the future maybe

My guess would be that it's because the Wither Storm is enhanced by the command block. At first it WAS a normal wither, which is probably something that Petra killed before, but the Wither Storm is like a mutant one which is much harder to kill.
