Stuck on Character Selection

I was playing before, and I got through the first chapter. But when I came back, for some reason, when I clicked play, it stuck me into character selection. I was confused, but found my save to have been erased . A bit upset, I decided to go through it again anyways so I could continue on. But, I've found, I cannot move past character selection. I'll click a character, it'll select it and begin to fade to black as if it is going to start...But then, it'll fade right back in to the character selection.

Why is this happening? And how can I fix it? I've already tried uninstalling and re-installing it.

Try:
selecting a different save
uninstalling and reinstalling

yeah, i had this same problem. except i already had completed episodes 1-4. Not happy right now

welp, i had already finished chapter 1-6 or so when this happened

I didn't even see character selection screen.

Well, I might be able to figure out a fix that won't require you to start over. First, please navigate to the Telltale Games folder (This is located in your Documents folder within your user folder) and tell me what folders are there.

If you weren't very far, selecting a different save slot is probably your best option. If you really don't want to lose your progress, however, follow the same steps as I gave TheTankEngine above.

So I have the same problem now too, does anybody have a way to fix this? Different save file doesn't work for me and giving permission or something doesn't work also. I've run it in Admin mode and it still doesn't work. But I also don't see a Telltale Games folder in the documents map (withing User folder). So, is that the problem? Do I need to show the map of Telltate and how? Or does anybode else has another fix?

Is there a Minecraft Story Mode folder in there? If so, you should be able to copy that elsewhere to backup your saves and then try reinstalling.
