Orient rules help

In the Orient expansion there is a card that cost 3 of some color and it is then two gold tokens.
When used do both the gold coins have to be same color as in 2 red, 2 blue, 2 green
or
Can they be declared any color such as 1 red and 1 blue, or 1 green, and one white?

ow, you are talking about a part of cities of splendor physical expansion. First of all Orient isn't yet available here. Never tried in other words. :)

but have a look on official rulebook:


This card is worth 2 gold tokens (do not draw them, they do not count against your limit of 10 tokens) and can be spent during a single purchase. Each of these 2 gold tokens can replace any color. If you use only one, the second one is wasted. Once spent, this card is discarded (put it back in the box) and has no effect any longer.


about your instance, any gold coins can be used for any color token, just like their normal use.

Thanks. For some reason when we first played it the group interpreted it as both having to be same color. Armed with your explanation to confirm I am asking them to correct our play.

They probably confused it with one of the powers from Trading Posts or whatever it's called.
