question about bugs

I just played my first digital game of Splendor on steam. I don't see a pinned bug report thread, so I'm wondering how common bugs are.


In my game against the AI just now, there was a card that I wanted to buy, but it wouldn't let me. I easily had the tokens and bonuses to pay for it. Also, a crucial card was revealed, but the red circle indicating the ruby cost was blank. It was an important card (being the only emerald card on the table), so I reserved it. No matter how many rubies or ruby bonuses I had, I was not ever able to buy the card.

What's the deal? This game seems really simple, so I'm hoping there aren't a lot of bugs like this, but I already encountered two in my first game.

[Edit - this is rough. I can barely get through a game without something bizarre happening. It gave me 19 points in one turn, ending the game on turn 3. In another game, the AI bought a card on its first turn somehow. The card cost 4 tokens. Sometimes the Ai just doesn't do anything on its turn; it just thinks endlessly.

While my experience hasn't been quite so bug-filled as yours, I have experienced a couple of different bugs. But they were like glitches that happened exactly once out of all my time playing.

There's at least one achievement that exists on Steam but not in the game and is therefore impossible to get.

I got the base game and played it for over 20 hours without a problem. I just got the expansion DLCs and now the game is horribly bugged - and I mean the base game, I have not even tried the expansion content yet. Irritating to say the least.

I had the same bug - cards would come up that I could definitely afford, but the game refused to let me buy them.

The solution for me was to ask for a refund immediately and uninstall the DLC.
Game worked great again after that.

I bought the extensions and found the strongholds does not work according to the rules that came with my boardgame extension printouts. Those state that if I have 3 strongholds on a card I can purchase after performing actions. That should mean I can take tokens, then purchase the card. Instead at the beginning of my turn it forces me to either purchase the card or pass. That negates all value from having 3 strongholds on a card.

Trying to play an online game of splendor. I click play ... online and it says I am connected to internet and has a login button. I am logged in and it says yes. Clicking the YES button does nothing. How exactly do I log in to Asmode?

I am finding occasionally I reserve a card, there are gold gems available, but I do not receive the gold gem.

I ran into a bug today; I could not purchase cards for which I clearly had the gems. No DLCs of any kind.

I encountered the "cant buy" bug as well. I reserved a card and when I had the mats to buy the reserved card, the game wouldn't let me purchase and the card did not have the green/blue outline.

I've just bought this game and have encountered something which seemed to be a bug in each game I played. Or it could be me misunderstanding

First two games against AI the second card I reserved just disappeared never to be seen again. The third game online I seemed to miss my turn, I tried to buy a reserved card, hit end turn and nothing happened. Next turn I did the same thing slower and it worked.

I've seen the game occasionally glitch. I haven't seen your particular problem with a reserved card disappearing. But it is in line with the other weirdness that I have seen. The good news (at least for me) is that those kinds of weirdnesses seem to be very rare.

As far as trying to buy a reserved card, You just have to be a little more careful and make sure that the UI has actually properly registered your selection. I can be a bit visually/coordination impaired myself, or at least that's the excuse I've used for when my fingers don't seem to do exactly what my brain tells them to do (it doesn't help that I have a bit of a tremor). I'm not saying that that's what happened to you, just that the interface was just acting finicky.

Good to know its not just me, I think the UI is a bit sketchy and clicking through fast can make weird things happen.
