Splendor
ClayCub Mar 11, 2017 @ 8:21am
Splendor.exe - System Error: api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing.
Never successfully can run Splendor. Can run other STEAM games fine.
Just had some updates on steam and windows and still cannot load game.
Each launch gets following pop-up:

Splendor.exe - System Error: api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing.

My computer stats are:
HP EliteBook 8540p
Win 7:64bit, Intel i7, Q740 @ 1.73GHz, 9GB ram
VIDEO: NVIDIA NVS 5100M

I have uninstalled, restarted and reloaded Splendor. No change

Would appreciate what to do?

when i searched for the error, The problem is that the KB2999226 (Universal CRT) which is part of the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017 failed to install.
It directs me to Download the Visual C++ Redistributable:
--For Windows 64-bit : Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017 (64-bit)
https://www.smartftp.com/support/kb/the-program-cant-start-because-api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0dll-is-missing-f2702.html (the page is for the main article and both 32/64bit installers

I ran, uninstalled and reinstalled. Rebooting from each part.

I still get the same error.:steamsad:

The VC++ Redistribuable that you need to install is 2015. You can get it fro;m Microsoft :
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

Note that Steam tried to installed it and failed, so there must ne some out-dated piece of software on your computer that prevents the VC++ Redistribuable installation. You might have to install all Windows update first, for instance.

Thank you for the reply. I did get the link and did an install after all other applications were closed. Rebooted PC and now get error "The program can't start because MSVCP140.dll is missing". Other research on that is showing to reinstall the VC++ 2015 or to manually download the proper32/64 DLL files. I welcome suggestions. I hope i'm making progress? As for windows updates. I have installed all updates up through August 2016 when I reinstalled win7 from HP's install disc. I don't seem to see any other updates happening?

FINAL UPDATE: I use a VPN: torguard-setup-v0.3.66.exe and ran that update. Included was the option to install C++ 2015. It was a batch install (program and C++) It had a problem and I ran the C++ installer only and it was fine. Then I started up splendor as Admin and i'm listening to the music now..FOR THE FIRST TIME! YAY!!!
