Help me pick a healer
Trying to figure out what healer to play. I like classes with strong and plentyfull utility and constantly switching your LAS depending on the dungeon and group. As well as a proactive healing style. Side note, I have to level it, so is the dps side fun?
Thank you in advance to any help you may provide!

http://www.steamhawkegaming.shivtr.com/forum_threads/1779158 it's old but it's still much relevant and also you can't expect any better guide to the healing role... unless someone will actually write something meaningful in this thread. tbh - all 3 classes more or less can be described as you described your dreamed healer.

If you want a healer with lot of CC, i suggest picking up Esper, otherwise Medic is also a good choice since they got a good AOE range (Both Dps and Heal). Spellslinger on the otherhand relied on your accuracy more often since their main heal has cone shaped aoe.

Go with either Esper or Medic for heals. Both have amazing dps and can heal very well!

Between Esper and Medic, who has the most utility. Buffs, debuffs, pruges, cleanses, single targe CC, AOE CC. I like changing my LAS depending on the situation, is my party new, experinced, are we lacking in one area or another, are there lots of mobs that buff or apply dots, etc. This is what makes a fun healer to me, one that can adapt to the situation, but may not excell in anything, or only has 1 real strength instead of a few strenghts but everything else is lacking.

Esper has heals that you can pre-plan and place for your team and buff heal the healing that all healers can provide. But they only use light armor, a lot of their really good heals require you to stand in place (sure you can spec for instant but they won't be as efficient) they also can't heal shields.

Medic is very popular in raid groups because of their utility probes and essential in a lot of fights to meet dps requirements. They have the ability to provide damage while healing instead of damage instead of healing as other classes. They can also heal SHIELDS not just HP. They have issues if melee doesn't stack in the right places, they also have to be repositioned a lot because they have mid-ranged heals.

Spellslinger has a lot of cds to keep yourself alive and high damage if you mess up or are caught in bad places. They can pre-HOT TANKS or raid members before fights, They can also heal shields. A lot of their heals will heal themselves and there closest ally, which would not make him a great tank healer, You have to constantly make sure that your target is the closest ally in order to heal them which will be very hard in times of high mobility and people are running through you a lot.
Iam currently playing healer (lvl 15 ) and really enjoy it. Did 1 dungeon so far and that went very well :)
