Too bad it's not on sale for the end of the year.

Technically it was, for an entire week. It came out in december after all.

At best around 50 000 copies, which considering the costs of PC ports would put ASW in the black already.

Wow, that is over a million dollars in sales. I hear Valve takes 30% for their cut though.

Yeah, but still I'd say 50k is above what most would estimate. Plus, it probably has returned the development cost by now. On a side note - It's over double the sales of AC+R and the most out of GG series on steam. May not be a whole lot by the industry's standards but ASW must be happy with the sales so far.

Actually there's no port cost other than their employees salary since they're doing it in home and unreal engine makes it even easier.

If these console figures are accurate, the series actually has the potential to become the best selling on PC in the long run: http://www.vgchartz.com/game/75671/guilty-gear-xrd-sign/

That's usually how PC games goes, with Steam sales making things relevant again, while on console everyone is waiting for new releases.

Either there's no cost or there are employees' salaries.

I've heard that vgchartz is largely inaccurate as it tracks units shipped rather than sold. I've no proof for that however, and the numbers on that particular game look accurate. All we know for sure is that the game sold slightly better on Steam in the first two weeks than how it did on consoles in Japan. I don't remember the exact figures but it was approx. 33 000 copies.

This site has really bad way of showing sales.
You have to add this http://www.vgchartz.com/game/75670/guilty-gear-xrd-sign/ and count unknown amount of sales from arcades.
Vgchartz is as accurate as Michael Patcher's prediction.

What about licensing cost? I mean, we get vocal soundtrack for free.

That's not related to game really and since it's produced by Daisuke Ishiwatari it's still "home made" album that they don't need to licence, also if you check your folder you will see "not for sale" on the cover so costs were minor enough to give it as freebie.

Good to see GG Xrd doing well on PC.

Should have easily sold enough to warrant a faster port of Revelator imho.
Sledgehammer Dec 24, 2015 @ 6:30am
To be fair SteamSpy isn't accurate source as well. However, either way the game is big success on PC even though they released it just this December while on consoles it was released long time ago, plus Revelator was announced. I mean they crashed Valve servers. Hopefully ASW aren't idiots and understand that they made big mistake by not bringing the game on PC and PS4 in tandem. They can easily outsell any version on PC but for that they have to release the game in tandem. Will see if ASW is competent enough to do so.
