Game won't launch (Windows 10)
been wanting to play this recently, so I installed it but when I try to play it, this is all I get: https://imgur.com/a/CbkUCGC

It doesn't do anything and I have to close it. I've already tried verifying the integrity of the game files. I also tried running in windows 7 compatibility mode.

Any help is appreciated

Try restarting your computer, don't play in offline mode (the game doesn't like it from what I remember), and if the game's window doesn't even open there's a chance your computer has some malware hijacking the Windows command prompt (which is required to boot the game IIRC).

I've since tried restarting, I never tried playing in offline mode, and if you're talking about the SoundMixer issue, I've already looked into it and I do not have this problem. I also know that there is nothing messing with command prompt as I had to use command prompt the other day to fix an entirely seperate issue I had and it worked just fine.

For anybody reading this thread that doesn't know about the SoundMixer issue, some people have had a problem with some malware that prevented command prompt from functioning (I think it prevented it from being opened entirely tho I'm not too sure). To get rid of the malware you have to press the windows key + r, type "%appdata%" (without the quotes), hit enter, go to the microsoft folder, and then delete the "SoundMixer" folder off of your PC.

I appreciate you trying to help tho, Red

You're welcome! And welp... That's a weird issue. After checking your screenshot again the game seems to boot but hangs on startup. Maybe nobody's solution will help, or you can try deleting GUILTY GEAR Xrd -SIGN-/REDGame/Config/REDSystemSettings.ini. It basically contains graphical settings, and the game will create a fresh copy on the next launch.

It could also be caused by some third-party tool, for example some games refuse to boot with newer releases of RivaTuner (though usually the game just doesn't launch instead of hanging).

I have the same problem with FighterZ on my nvidia machine. For whatever reason it really doesn't like playing Arc System Works games in fullscreen mode. My work around is to delete the system save file. You can do that by going to:

X:\steam\steamapps\common\GUILTY GEAR Xrd -SIGN-\SAVE
(X = whatever drive you have steam installed to)

When you get there you'll want to delete the SYSTEM folder. That should reset your system settings without losing any story progress, replays etc.
Just tried this out and immediately the game launched with no issue. Thanks a bunch! :lunar2019coolpig:
