Pressing Enter - Windowed / Fullscreen

Sometimes, pressing Enter takes the entire game out of fullscreen and into a window, though still lists it as fullscreen in the graphics settings. Pressing enter again will put it back into fullscreen and vice-versa.
Unable to access chat due to this bug.

try to replug your keyboard. clean its connection pins if it is not a USB.

do you have another keyboard at hand you could try to see if the issue is your actual keyboard?

im not sure how to fix this to be honest

It is a USB.
I think the fault may be on Steams part.

I had a Steam chat window open in the background, despite having the game as the active window, I think pressing enter was trying to input there and making the game bug out.
Closing the chat window seems to have fixed the issue altogether so I don't know if there would even possibly be a fix for it.
But if anyone else encounters this, make sure they have chat windows closed completely.

It is a USB.

I'm having this issue as well, and I'm on a laptop so there's no keyboard to disconnect.

Same here and it has nothing do with usb cable hahaahhahah, Just press alt then you can use chat

The cause/solution I found to this issue is that hitting Alt causes it to resize the next time you hit Enter, and this was happening every time I used Alt-Tab to switch from the game to discord or a browser to check my position on the online map.

Tl;dr I just tap Alt again when i tab back into the game before trying to talk and it works fine. Takes a bit to build the muscle memory but it works.

Another way I discovered is when alt+tabbing back into game you hold alt+tab and click the game window instead of just alt+tabbing back in.
