Common Fixes for Common Problems
Finding your System Specs

Now that you know you system specs, do the meet the minimum system specs shown on the Store Page?

STOP! Have you Googled your problem?
Most problems can be easily solved by a simple google search: htttp:/google.com

Make sure your Graphics Card Drivers are up-to-date!

Use the "Finding your System Specs" section to figure out what graphics card you have.

If you've got a NVIDIA card go here: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-uk

For AMD go here: https://support.amd.com/en-us/download

You can also utilize the auto-detect function on the NVIDIA/AMD website to determine which specific type of NVIDIA/AMD card you have. During the installation process you'll most likely want to perform an express installation if you're unfamiliar with the process.

For NVIDIA users.. You may have a program installed on your computer called Geforce Experience, for users with Geforce Experience simply launch the program and from there you'll be able to update your drivers with a few simple left clicks.


Can't launch The Isle

Right click The Isle in your Steam library > left click properties > local files > browse local files > TheIsle > Binaries > Win64 > launch TheIsle-Win64-Test and you should be prompted with an error which you can compare to the solutions below, if the error does not match those listed below please create a thread.

See below:

- api-ms-win-crt-runtime is missing from your computer.
This error simply means that your Windows is lacking critical security updates and will be solved by downloading and installating any/all missing Windows updates.

- msvcp140.dll is missing from your computer.
Your system is missing the latest Microsoft C++ Redistributables. You can download them here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads Download & Install both the x86 and x64 versions. Afterwards restart your computer.

If your error is not listed here please open your own thread, provide as much information as you possibly can.

If none of the solutions above solve the issue, An uninstall / clean install can fix this issue. When you uninstall, delete the Isle folder in Steam Apps to make sure any remaining files are gone.

Controls not showing/can't use them

On your in-game menu simply open Options > Controls > left click "Reset" at the bottom of the screen and restart your game, everything should be restored to default. As shown in this gif: https://gyazo.com/76eb2e3dcac7f029fa01db2761ecc4d0

Alternatively you can also try the following:
Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
Afterwards, at the bottom left of your taskbar there should be a white search bar. Type %APPDATA% in there and open your %APPDATA% folder.
At the top you'll see the filepath, click "Appdata" to go back to the actual Appdata folder, then to local > TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder.


No servers found

- Add an exclusion to your anti-virus/firewall for The Isle.
Identify which anti-virus/firewall program you have (if any) and add an exclusion for The Isle. Anti-virus/firewall interference is generally the most common cause for this particular problem, exclusions often solving the issue entirely.

- Adjust your Steam In-Game server browser: Max pings / minutes.
At the top left of Steam you’ll see a little button labeled “Steam”, left click that and select settings > in-game > and adjust the dropdown menu at the bottom to around 1000. You may need to tinker around and find the magic number that works for you, afterwards simply hit ok and launch The Isle.

Steam SubSystem Error/Fatal Error

To fix this please reset your system’s Winsock connection settings by opening a Windows command prompt as administrator (go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories, right-click on “Command Prompt” and choose “Run as administrator”) and entering “netsh winsock reset" (without the quotes). Reboot your computer and check if your problem is fixed now.

If you're a Windows 10 user simply type "CMD" into the search bar at the bottom left, right click "Command Prompt" and select "Run as administrator", then continue following the instructions above.

If solution above does not solve the issue, a uninstall / clean install may fix this issue. When you uninstall, delete the Isle folder in Steam Apps to make sure any remaining files are gone.

AMD FX Freezes
Locate your Engine.ini file, which should be found in your
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\TheIsle\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Then copy this under all the path thing[/script/engine.audiosettings]
bDisableMasterEQ=True

it should look like this:

It should fix alt-tab freezing and general freezing for AMD FX users.

Can't attack normal.. I've tried to repair the game and re-installed again. And "Appdata" TheIsle > delete the "Saved" folder. but there's still this issue .. What's going on?
how do you fix when you tryna host a private sever and its just a black screen with noises from isle
I have a AMD driver and my game is still crashing.It says

i log on to eu servers all the time and after 1 minute if im lucky i just disconect any help?
So I just downloaded it today, my issue is when I try to host my own server it takes me to a black screen and won't show anything else. No sound either. How can I fix that? I'm not even sure what the problem is...
cannot invite friends to group after death. Tried deleting saved data. Having to do this every time is extremely time consuming and not enjoyable. It also hasn't fixed my problem lately. Not fun.
im getting fatal errors. or anti cheat errors, anti cheat integertie. random screen freezes or just game shutting down. tried all the above things. but cant fix the problem. whent from turning my pc upside down to fully reinstall windows. all drivers updating bios and all. and im out of options. i checked my pc for maybe hardware that is failing or broken. but thats not the issue i can play any other game without any issues. im just lost on how to fix this problem. even went to a pc fixing store. also they couldnt find any problems with my pc.

ive tried. deleting save folder. also the above settings. reinstalling. new windows and updating everything. been trying for over a week. and doesnt matter if i play gateway or enrivma. get the same issues.

i play games like horizon, last oasis, icarus, destiny. and some others. al without any problems on higher settings. ive tried the isle on the lowest settings also higher settings it al doesnt matter still have these problems. sometimes after some time playing and sometimes cant even start it up or after a minute of playing.

so truly lost on what i can do to normally play this game. ill keep trying do because i really really like love this game. and looks amazing etc

When I attempt to download Anti cheat it will not download
I have the same problem
I'm not sure why, but lately every time I try to boot up Evrima, I get the prompt

"Launch Error
Could not locate the game binary: 'C:\Program Files (x86)\steamapps\common\TheIsle\Binaries\Win64\TheIsleClient-Win64-Shipping.exe'"

I had switched my game to the legacy version and then back to Evrima and everything worked just fine, but the moment I shut off my laptop it refused to work again. I had checked my files, and couldn't find a Win64 Test file. Any help?
When I launch the game it exits out or says mutliple games running or something like that
(EVRIMA) my game doesn´t save my keybind changes, I deleted "Saved" folder and I've already followed "Controls missing/not working" steps! It started after the update! help please!

Settings are still not saved. It just doesn't help to delete save folders again and again. Not even after years. Get your work together, Devs.
When i join a server that has a spot open, it will just kick me out of the game. No context just back to The Isle steam page. No errors, nothing.

If you mean by spot open, it looks like 97/100 or 99/100? If so you need to refresh the page until it reads 100/100, then enter and you will then be put in a Que, numbers just below 100 are bugged, if it's a lot below 100 like 60/100 it should be ok
