Not enough free space to update

I have 15.5 gb free space, and yet this game won't download and update 22.5 mb. How am I supposed to play this game if I can't update it? Annoying!

Do you see how stupid that comment is? I have many hundred times the space needed, yet it won't update.

I believe this is due to the fact that Steam often saves a certain amount of space for potential future updates. You may need to clear some space on your hard drive, and yes the space they reserve can be a little.. overzealous at times.

It was like this on the last patch as well. This is the only game (I have more than 1000) that needs this much space. Not even games that downloads 4-5 gb needs all that free space (Conan Exiles has updates that exceeds 10 gb, and that is no problem other than a long time to download). And of top of that, this game uses way more time to actually apply the update than other games. Time to look at your methods for updating?

I cleared the download cache in settings (for Steam client ofc), and it didn't help.

You're aware that we have literally zero control over the Steam platform right?

You need at least a good 20 GB free.

6 games just downloaded new patches (1.3 gb), no troubles. But your game doesn't want to. You are going to get a lot of bad reviews from players not able to play your game after they get the first update.

Read the store page requirements for disk space. This is out of our control.

Store page says 20gb. Its already 20gb. So another 20gb means 40. Its simple math.
