The Isle Stuttering / short & random FPS drops
Hey,

I quit the isle for a while and came back. Everything was fine before I quit, but now I'm having stuttering problems with the isle, mostly when running or there are roars (maybe that's the cause?). When I'm standing still it's absolutly fine. It's also the entire time very smooth at 60 fps (locked, 100+ on cinematic without lock). When the stuttering happens, the FPS drops from 60 to ~ 40 and the screen freezes for like 0.2 seconds. This happens very frequently (2-3 minutes or more often). It's definitly not my spec (GTX 1070,32 RAM, I7 6700....). Any ideas how to solve this? I tried to play with the settings, but without success, doesn't matter if it's on low or cinematic.

Edit: It's also not my internet connection, I'm receiving 200k.
The number of dead bodies and players around also don't matter, it even happens if you are alone.

Hey. Is your graphics card up to date?

Yes sure, every driver is up to date.

Are you running The Isle off of an HDD? There's a known stuttering issue that, to my knowledge, hasn't been fixed yet. I run off of an HDD and experience frequent momentary "freezes" where I'll go from 60 fps to a complete halt for about a second. Happens no matter what server, settings, etc. It's obnoxious but I've just learned to deal with it until it gets patched.

Yes, I was using my HDD, since even more performance hungry and bigger games with much more loading than the isle are working perfectly fine. I did install it on my SSD now, but I still have the stuttering issue, but it's at least better than before. the freezes feel a little bit shorter and less interrupting and also less frequent than on a HDD. I hope they fix this issue asap, it's really annoying and game breaking.

I'm running the game at a constant 60-80 fps on highest settings and still get this stuttering / lag spike issue. the freeze is short but consistent, so frustrating. so much so that I'd quite honestly refund if I wasn't over the two hour playtime mark. The dev's need to stop whatever content dumps they're working on and fix this issue. what's the point of continuously adding content if it's ultimately unplayable from the performance?

Same here, good hardware, more than enough fps on highest settings and still these permanent mikrolaggs and stutterings. I hate it. I love the game, but this laggyness..

The devs who fix the stuttering issues are not the same people as the ones adding content. You don't want people who create dinosaur models or skins fixing game bugs.

We are working on it, hold tight.

i have this issue as well... very very frustrating, especially when you see videos of people playing and its perfectly smooth

For me the recent patch solved this stuttering issue. Kudos to the devs.

Are there servers now on the dev branch?
AbominableChicken Dec 10, 2017 @ 7:28pm
Last i checked there was none, so i could not see if the patch worked.

I still have the issue.

I'm still having the stuttering too, unfortunately. Hopefully whatever's causing it ends up getting patched eventually, game runs fine for me on the highest quality aside from the stutter. ^^;
