The Isle constantly crashing
Hi everyone, so as these two topics :

I'm also experciencing major crashing problems right now. Yesterday, I could play about an hour without crashing. Today, it's non sens, every 5 - 10 minutes or so. The game simply freezes and I gotta go to Task Manager to end it manually. About half the time, the game even crashes before going on the server (in starting menu). It also crashes a lot when I log out of a server to come back to the main menu.

I really feel like this problem simply occured progressively during the last days... It wasn't like that at the beginning of the week. I did nothing different on my side, on my machine or my parameters.

Thanks for your help.

When was the last time you updated your GPU drivers? I'd say ensure that you're utilizing the latest version available to you.

March 19th. My system updates itself with the NVIDIA software. I'm on version 378.92, the last one.

Hm.. As you mentioned that it seems to be a recent occurance I'd suggest attempting a clean installation. Essentially uninstall The Isle through steam, navigate through your steam library and delete the remaining Isle folder, afterwards simply reinstall The Isle through steam.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled.

I made some testings, started with "High" graphic settings. At first, I was sure it was ok. The game seemed faster and smoother. Then, after 10 minutes ingame, it crashed again.

I progressively dropped graphic settings untill "Low", the crashes still occured. By the way, I noticed no time difference between "High" and "Low" settings before it crashes (before or after reinstall). If it was a graphic issue, I would assume low settings would have allowed me to play for a longer period of time?

I also noticed that if I shut down the application with Task Manager too quickly after it froze (2 - 3 seconds) and launch it again right away, the game ALWAYS starts frozen...and I need to end task again. It's as if I need to give it some time :P

Out of curiosity what map and branch of the game have you been playing on?

I'm mainly playing on Community Shack survival and Sandbox, V3.

I've been performing others tests to figure out what's going on. I thought you guys might be interested to know about it.

I noticed yesterday that some youtube videos stopped loading while I was watching them. So I started to suscpect my internet connection as the possible source of problems. Speed tests showed around 15-20 Mbit/sec of Download, and around 10 Mbit/sec of Upload. My ping is around 15-25 msec.

Using a software to monitor my dowload and upload speed live, I found that, when playing The Isle, every 5 or 10 minutes, my download speed was suddenly crashing for couple seconds, before going back on again. More tests confirmed that this is causing my youtube videos to stop loading, and of course, The Isle to crash. So no relation with my graphic card or settings.

I'm connected through Wi-Fi, so I did tests on that : while my game was crashing on my main PC, my laptop (also Wi-Fi) held it's signal and kept going. So the problem is not the Wi-Fi signal.

So it appears that something in my main PC is interfering with it's own ability to detect and/or use Wi-Fi. I have two different Wi-Fi antenna that I use on this PC. Neither one or the other is solving my problem.

If you guys have any idea on what can be happening, let me know! It seems that playing The Isle causes my internet to crash much more often than simply watching YouTube videos, or typing this message :P

Thanks.
