Would be cool if they allowed Users to join the herd and get a health and damage reduction buff while near the heard
So players follow them to help newbies learn where stuff is? That would be pretty cool. It's weird that the examples you mentioned aren't creatures that are in the game though.
Herbivore players will have rotating diets that will (apparently) randomly change from time to time (Species specific tho, so all Dryos would have the same diet at any given point. Say, all Dryos now want to eat Pumpkins instead of Agave for their proteins). That would make players move more through the maps and, since carnivores need herbivores to survive, they should follow, creating a less streamlined experience.
That doesn't sound to unrealistic honestly. But they'll still have to swap territorys sometimes. Because if known travel paths are ambushed too often then herbivores will stop using them and make new ones.
