How can I play on The Isle with the Ankylosaurus?

Hello, a friend of mine just started playing The Isle, but he can't use the Ankylosaurus in survival mode. It doesn't appear in the selection menu before he starts the game. We think it's because maybe it was playable only during a specific event, or he has to gain points doing something.

I really hope somebody can help us solve this problem, we can't wait to play with this dino!

You can play as anky, as well as other non survival dinos, on sandbox or progression servers(which will likely be removed and turned into official mods later on). Some unofficial survival servers allow players to be non survival dinosaurs, but Im not sure how they do that.

Thank you very much :)) The only thing I don't understand is: is it legal to play on unofficial survival serves? And if the answer is yes, does somebody know which ones are the servers to play as anky?
