How do you get an egg in a nest

My friends and i want to play together but we always spawn in different spots. I try nesting and i was told to wait 15mins for an egg, but i never get one. What should i do?

Open your nest and click "Give food", you need to provide your nest with enough food to generate an egg. I can't remember the specific amount off the top of my head, it was around 15 - 30 if I recall correctly. Just remember it will take food from your stomach.

I should have mentioned this before, but im in sandbox rn. I cant find a progression screen ..

Go to the respawn menu and choose nest
