- Delete your Config folder to reset all settings (Do this every time after every major Update or change of version)
How to Delete the Config folder
1. If running The Isle, exit the game.
2. Open File Explorer.
3. Click the address bar at the top.
4. Type %localappdata% then press Enter.
5. Find "TheIsle" folder. Open it.
6. Open the "Saved" folder.
7. Delete the "Config" folder. Note: This will reset any of your custom settings to their defaults, may also improve performance
8. Start the game.
Note: Hitting 'Apply' in settings when you have your Dino loaded in, may help as some settings may get stuck, could help with performance
- Also if you haven't in awhile Update your GPU Driver (use the manufactures website) and Windows OS to the latest versions each
If still not working -
- Turn off your Anti Virus (AV).. then Verify the game in Steam, run the game, if it works its the AV... set up exclusions in the AV for the Game
Hope this works
I think I will give you insight....after 3 horrible days of trying to run evrima....two points.
First one antywirus / defender / windows protection settings : it was my first time in my life he was acting so sneaky...game was added to all exceptions...and he was still quarantine game files, so that was first thing.
Other was windows update...oh this need to be programmer mess. I am doing usually windows update once per week, and somehow newest window update that was not installed also was giving problem with running evrima....legacy was working fine.
Driver and graphic card is updated too.
But myabe it's really the antivirus. It popped out a warning by two other games.
But nothing by The Isle. Says nothing about quarantine.
Windows update is a possibility but if it's the case, it only affects this game :/
- Turn the AV OFF, Verify the game to replace any missing files, run the game -
Some AV's like 'Avast' have known issues with the game
When you need to make an exclusion do it for this TheIsleClient-Win64-Shipping.exe in your antivirus program
Turned off anti virus, updated graphics drivers. turned off any programs that could interfere. deleted config file. checked integrity of game file. reinstalled the game. nothing for me
Thanks :)
did you delete norton?
Have tried everything suggested
Some have had to completely uninstall and remove the 3rd party Anti Virus, if you do, Windows Security takes over and works very well
-- Anti-Virus issue.. Either uninstall Norton/Avast/AVG/McAfee/Kaspersky and let Windows Defender take over or add the entire The Isle folder in Steam as an exception
-- Make sure to Verify the game in Steam to replace any missing files
-- Update your GPU Driver and Windows as well
But if I reinstall later the norton, it still freeze after Unreal engine. The curious fact is I've an other pc, also, a MSI trident with I7 11xxx (i don't remember the exact value), with 64 GB ram and a RTX4060, Norton suite complete and it works!!!
Here on, my katana MSI I7 RTX4060, it freezes! with Norton. I've done also all *.exe in the isle exception to firewall but it is not sufficient. I reach my knownledge for computer here please help! . Cannot use a pc without antivirus
