This means an adult Maia has 3800HP.
What do you mean by slow? With a speed of 46.9 km/h the Maia
Is the FASTEST Herbivore in the game right now!
AND the only carnivore who is faster than the Maia is the Carno.
Turning... use your quadro stance (Ctrl) to fight agile enemies &
to accelerate then switch to bipedal (Ctrl) stance.
But even then you can just run away cuz almost nothing can catch the Maia.
Starving... if you are starve to death as a herbivore...
All herbivores can graze making it IMPOSSIBLE to starve.
The Maia has currently the most amout of different attacks in the game.
Quadro stance: You can Alt Kick looking behind you,
side kick loocking to your sides, headbutt, stomp & front kick.
In bipedal stance, you have bodyslam Hold LMB & move your mouse side ways.
Stomp HOLD RMB, headbut, alt attack shove, normal shove and more.
Bodyslam drops Cera, Carno & EVERYthing lighter to the ground
allowing you to stomp a enemies HEAD dealing massive damage.
You need to get familiar with the Maia or play another Dino if that one is
too difficult for you.
AGAIN you do NOT have to fight (except the Carno) all other threats
the Maia can easily outrun.
The Maia is a allrounder & mastering it takes time not just a few hours
try it out properly for a week then you can make a guess.
I hope that helped you a bit cuz ther are currently not many GOOD guides about the Maia
on YT as far as i know. Good luck
i suggest you go play it and go against a cera, and than we will talk
everythign you say is nice words and looks good on paper but this dino is rubbish!!!!
i played 8-10 hours of this annoying dino now, and it has been torture!!!!!!
i was a adult maia against a adult cera he ran circles around me and just chopped me up like i was nothing
i could not keep up with him turning speed wise, i could not keep my head facing him at all!!!! and cera have rubbish turnign speed!! i was a adult maia!!!!!!!!!!!
and i could not keep up with him damage dealing wise!!, what a pile of rubbish!!!!
on paper this maira might seem very good, but in reality it is rubbish!! utter rubbish
once u got in this ctrl stance you turn even slower!!!!!!!!, you have no tail whip (why not) and the hit boxes seem off, the cera was biting mid air and still hitting me!!!
i've killed 4 or 5 ceras, several sub crocs, and a bunch of smaller things now as my maia on ISR and i haven't died a single time
maia is so strong dude
are we playing the same game
He just said that you can outrun everything except Carno and survive. Your response is "I couldnt fight a Cera... he killed me".
Cera is one of the most agile Carnis but also slow as hell. You could have just ran away and survived just fine.
Some Dinos are not supposed to fight. It is a run and survive dino.
After testing maia for a while this has also been my experience. So frustrating.
The guy that responded to you 100% hasn't even played maia.
Sounds like you fought against MrGray. He is a Pro CERA-Player and fights Deinos or multiple Tenos too as Cera. Maia is just fine tbh. Oh and MrGray also plays Maia and wins against Ceras. ;-)

Was this video made before or after maia nerf?
But I didn't
Or really at any video of maia pvp.
They're all the same - maias missing 95% of their attacks, and doing zero damage with the ones they land.
Maia needs a buff to it's attack speed, it simply is not a viable dinosaur. Or rather, to the delay between mouse click and attack, and/or to the speed of the animations of alt attacks.
But this also means maia will be boring to play.
This is a PvP game no matter whether you play herbie or carnivore. Nobody logs in to just walk around. And even if I do plan to "just grow my dino" it would be boring without anyone attacking me.
And in maia's case... it's a tank that runs fast and also has a ton of HP. It means it literally cannot be killed. It's not like you can ambush it and dump so much dps into it that it dies. So - super boring. Who wants a dinosaur that can't fight, but also can't die? Usually when I run from someone as any other dino I'm at risk of getting caught and eaten.
The only difference is that as a carnivore you bring pvp to others, because you need to eat, and as a herbivore you mostly pvp when attacked (though many herbivores actively seek out fights too).
In order for this game to not be pvp-only focused it would need deep gameplay loops that are interesting and engaging without pvp, which it does not have and I don't think it ever will. Cause, you know, it's dinosaurs. You can't exactly build houses or grow flowers or whatever.
Also we already have non-pvp dinosaurs - dryo and hypsie, them being non-pvp because they can't kill sh%t. Nobody plays them.
