What's up with the maia? Why is it so bad?

Is it really unplayable right now?

My first experience was pretty horrible: Us, two 60-70% maias were absolutely VIOLATED and DESTROYED by a SINGLE raptor!

Problem is: in quadrupedal stance, regular attacks do barely any damage (the front leg hits), and the alt attacks are too slow - the side kicks, the back kick and the powerful head shove.
They are in fact so slow that by the time you realize the raptor is charging at you and click your mouse, he's already done damage and ran away, and your attack hits air.

The bipedal attacks aren't any better: your turn radius is horrible, so unless the enemy is letting you run around so you have the time to turn, you can't do anything.

I've seen a few maia shorts on youtube and they always look the same - predators taking maias apart with ease while they hit air.

Am I missing something or is this dinosaur really laughably bad? I do want to play it but if it can't beat a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ raptor because it can't hit it... ugh.

Played as maia and I can agree. The leg kicking from sides are actually so useless, from my view it makes me think that I'm playing as a brainless herbivore that after kicking I should freeze for solid 2 seconds.

The same thing happened to it that happens to ALL the new additions;

First it is too powerful and steamrolls everything. thus making it attractive to most people, and everyone plays it. free mass bug testing.

Then they over-correct, and it inevitably gets nerfed into the ground.

Then they see no one will play it, and they back off on some of the nerfs, and it's in a mostly playable state.

We are in the super-nerf stage right now.

no idea why they even added it so far ive seen one on official server in like what 15 hours or so glad it got nerfed tho it was literally running down dibbles
