The Isle

Stop crying about starving to death due to no AI (Updated)
Really, it gets boring. The only people who post this crap are new players. Have you thought that MAYBE you have to learn more about the game by reading a guide or two before crying here? It's a survival game with a somewhat steep learning curve. It's not supposed to be easy.
Learn about online maps and hotspots at least, holy cow. Half the posts here are from whiny noobs who don't want to learn.

EDIT:

After playing a bit as troodon and having around 5 unsuccesful spawns in a row where I died to hunger or to a boar... I do believe that there should be some way for baby carnivores to sustain their hunger. Either more small animals like frogs should spawn, or maybe little bugs, that can only be caught if you're little yourself.

Maybe they could fill you only to a certain %, like grazing does for herbivore. Right now spawning as a troo does feel like a gamble. You either die to hunger or you get lucky and find someone's kill.
Goats? Good, but as soon as you approach they shut up and you can't find them in the thick vegetation, because you can't see anything.
Boars? One-shot you with a huge-ass attack hitbox.

So yeah, now that I think of it, baby carnivore survival does need a little bit of tuning.

I've got only 50 hours in the game and I can grow my carnivores without starving to death like 95% of the time.

There's sanctuaries, then there's random corpses lying around the map, especially in hotspots.
You don't even always need to go to South Plains if you want food (tho if you go there every time you'll never starve).

While I personally would reduce the time it takes a baby carnivore to die to hunger, as of now it's manageable but requires a little bit of map sense, strategy and caution.

♥♥♥♥ like croc and cera are probably the easiest to grow, since the first is bottlenecked in a body of water and will inevitably run into fish or smaller crocs to eat, and the latter can smell meat from 100 miles away and can eat rotten meat and bones too (You gotta be standing still and hold the sniffing hotkey for a good 10 seconds or so to smell stuff that is far away).

Medium and small carnivores are probably a bit harder to not starve since their smell is not that great and they starve fast, but, again, it's manageable.
From what I understand, the game spawns AI near you when you're starving, you just gotta hear it make noises and chase after it.

i must totally agree with that!
if you play smaller carni.....you cannot see as much as a bigger one and that will give a dissadvantige....if you are running in open space...sometimes AI does not make a sound but if you are big....you can see ALOT more than when you are small.

it also depends how good you know the map and where AI spawns the most etc.

so yes....smaller carni will have some dissadvantige but could try to group up faster and hunt lone dino's.
with Cera and Dilo i always grow alone till +-50% ....than i search for a group.

1 thing i have to dissagree......i don't think AI will spawn near if you grow hungry....but i am not sure it would.....right now ...i think it doesn't.

steep learning curve lmao this is the isle not sifu or something like it must be a big issue if most ppl have it, it seems honestly this wouldn't be an issue if the dinos hunger was more realistic these things are gluttonous fat asses

uh id say its way easier with smaller carnivores cuz u don't have to eat as much i survive as omni pretty easy cerato is a little harder cuz u gotta eat a bit more but cera is cera carno would have been a better example

Something to keep in mind is the time dialation. Example: the deinosuchus takes about 5 hrs to grow on a good diet. A real one probably took about 20 years to grow. That is a ratio of about 1 to 35,064. That means that if a crocodile that can go for a year without eating, that would translate to about 14.5 minutes of game time to starve, but it takes you an 1.5 hours to starve. Ill let you make your own conclusions off that.
I played for the first 30 minutes and was able to find dinos to kill twice when I was on 5-11% hunger left. The second time I broke bones and had to wait 10 minutes while about to die of hunger and I still found dinos to eat. I think I got lucky lmao

I kinda agree becouse The Isle supost to be sort of dino life simulation, not an action game. If it was intented as an action pvp game, we would spawn as full adults and devs wouldn't add smaller dinos like dryo, hypsi, ptera which are basicaly for " roleplaying " than anything else.

Evrima launched in horrible state where nothing mattered. Juvi spawned with full food and some smaller dinosaurs didn't have to eat even once before getting to like 75 or even 100% growth. Stamina was endless - you could run for 30 minutes and still didn't need to sit down etc. It was hot garbage for like 2 years.

Now we finaly have something that resembles dino simulation and I can finaly play this game again. I used to hate Evrima and actualy quitted. Now this game is interesting again thanks to the fact that they went back to " Dino simulation " instead pvp arcade game for zoomers.

The only problem with AI spawns is that it sometimes bugs or behaves weird / unfair / random. Some player gets AI spawns like crazy and then the other gets nothing. This is actual fact - not some conspiracy theory.
