Is Legacy Dead?

Until I waste 20 minutes switching back to legacy is anyone even playing legacy anymore. Are there more players on legacy or evrima?

You can have both installed at the same time. First you need to have Legacy installed, go to Steamapps -> common -> rename the folder called The Isle to something else, like "The Isle Legacy". And then download Evrima. This will then make a new folder called The Isle.
Then whenever you wanna swap versions, you need to rename the desired version folder back to The Isle.
Like if you wanna play Legacy after installing Evrima, rename the current The Isle folder to like "The Isle Evrima" and revert the folder you named "The Isle Legacy" back to just The Isle

And to answer your question, there are a ton more players on Legacy

Turfing the official legacy servers was the last nail in the coffin for me w/legacy. Not that I was going back anyways haha. I was there pre-hacking, and I know what that game was then and what it is now...not something to return to for me.

Evrima's a performance issue for me too, so it's also a rock and hard place for me with the isle haha. Not rly playing evrima much, neither, right now. Until they can optimise things more. I know they can. :)

Legacy actualy feels like a Survival title, while Evrima (so far) is basicaly a PvP game.

Many people who fell in love with The Isle can't stand Evrima combat, cartoony aesthetics, not to mention much higher PC requirements than legacy. Legacy community is still bigger than Evrima's.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wish legacy would just die, but sadly people want them dinos so they can be big bad t-rex or spino, or sit on nests for hours on end to hatch babys....

I mean I wouldn't say "Cartoony aesthetics" considering Legacy looks plastic, but yeah I get what you mean. Evrima definitely looks 10 times better than legacy however the gameplay is worthless.

Honestly the only reason to use legacy is the ppl doing mods. Evrima has come a long way and has more than Legacy. While Legacy does have larger maps and such, Evrima has more that you can experience. Staying on Evrima helps it make more progress

Legacy should not even exist , the point of the recode, i think it was back in 2019 ,was that everything was slow becouse legacy was full of bugs and when they try to fix or add something they got even more bugs and screw everything up in the game and they coud not advance and ofcourse to forget their behavior towards the community or development excuses or all the drama that happend before etc etc, so with the recode we all should get a new start that will solve all the issues in the game , but now what they do is to show all they are going to implement and all they are working on, and the " development excuses = not ask for ETAs, content will be released when it's ready " and Legacy still there.

I still want and hope the best for the game, iam a big fan of the isle and dinos( its been 8 years now i think ) and iam still here, but the dissapoinment never seems to end , even if its a little better now, its look like all still the same but with different and cleaver excuses. :(
