My eyes hurt

I don't know what happened. Before the update I thought the game was beautiful and I could have raved about the beautiful graphics forever. Honestly? The new graphic style is ugly at times and strains my eyes. I already miss the old graphic style, which I thought was just right. And what happened to the night? The "starry sky" looks like it is in broad daylight, while on the ground it is pitch black, so you can't see anything. Shouldn't it be exactly the opposite - a dark starry sky and a moonlit ground?

The night before the update was also just right - the whole area was gently enveloped in a bluish light and I could see everything. I love my new camouflage skins but now everything around me looks terrible. So far I can't enjoy the update because this new green cast and washed out graphics are not very pleasing to my eyes. A clear step backwards for me. EVRIMA was always the better version for me, but I'm already considering installing Legacy again. It's not a lie, something about the new graphic style is really straining my eyes! :(

Yes it looks like ♥♥♥♥, and it strains my eyes aswell.
It is some type of glare combination with high gamma.
Easy way out to make nights brighter i guess.

When can you actually grow some balls and stop giving in towards a small portion of the community who screams the loudest about night being "dark".

You do realize what they are saying right? Help i cannot see well, it is dark in the middle of the jungle a few hundred million years ago.

Yes yes night vision is not in, so what be honest, you guys prefer this ♥♥♥♥ which gives u migraine afther a couple of hours.

The day night cycle is faster then i take a ♥♥♥♥, we were fighting some groups and it took like 3 days in game time. GREAT ADVANTAGE OF HUNTING DAY OR NIGHT.\
Since the cycle is faster then a average hunt lmfao.
By hunt i do not mean you're average timmy walking off a cliff which most of you call a kill or succesfull hunt.

Adding to this. Yes the changes cause a lot of eyestrain and headaches after some time in the game. It's actually painful to be in game because of this visual change after only one or two night cycles.

I know 5.5 is looking to push night vision, but that could be months of this. And it's so painful to play I might just wait until then or hope they fix it before then.

Windows can adjust screen gamma. A temp fix till night vision comes.

Okay, I took a closer look at the graphics and I noticed what bothers me even during the daytime. It's the overexposed sky! Normally, the sky should be bright blue and the surroundings should be bathed in a soft light. The sun isn't really visible either, it's just a white and milky dot in the sky. This white and overexposed sky means that distant objects and ground textures appear rather pale and translucent. If you changed the exposure of the sky a bit, maybe the game wouldn't look so bad after all.

Yes, besides the strange green color (usually it's that lush deep green), i think the sky is also mainly the problem.

Im glad people realize the starry night sky I miss it so much it helped me with seeing through the night. Not so much in the forest which makes sense because of the tree making it pitch black.

Night vision is almost here on update 5.5 or 6. Maybe thats why they got rid of the sky

Thanks, the game looks a lot better since the hotfix and the night is easier on the eyes now. It looks beautiful when the green trees stand out against a bright blue sky. And if night vision comes soon, which we still don't know what it will look like, everything will be fine. I'm really excited!

I feel ya. Foliage, screen space reflections, and lighting all look worse. I think anti-aliasing and screen space reflections may be off permanently, but I have DLSS so it's not too bad. I'm still playing with gamma turned up for this game till they fix the bright sky and crushed blacks on land shadows. Foliage looks like it has less render distance, even at max settings, and has this weird pattern on the ground when you look straight down at it. Lighting around Palm trees have a ghosting effect as well.
