Why is the game completely dark even at noon?

At 13-14 hours of game time, I cannot see further than 5 meters from me with night vision turned on. How to play this?

Simple, you sit around and starve until its brighter. Or risk running head first into a steggo. Especially when the new cam comes out.

Didn't you know, tropical storms totally block out the sun. Do you mean to tell me you dont enjoy sitting in your 10ft nightvision cone for an hour of your gameplay while you cycle from daytime storm to night to morning storm?

well...i must say...i just got this game and switched to evrima..

first try, i tried to reach the sanctuary..and i think i managed, but was dark when i arrived
now, i can;t even find the entrance -,-...because it's pitch black all around...maybe 1-2 meters not...

ofc i'm starving almost...so how am i suposed to find survival required things if i can't even see the door...?

There is no door, its just a bunch of little trees to make it hard for bigger dinosaurs to get in. There are also beehives that attack things that are too big.

Also there is no meat there, only mushrooms. So if you are a carnivore then there is nothing unless there are juvi herbis there.

In the last Dev Q&A they said they will lengthen the Day, reduce the effect of storms and brighten the night in the next update

just popped on the forum to see what the state of the game is. The darkness was in my opinion the worst thing in the game, the DEVS seem to be still stuck on the idea that total darkness is what makes it a horror game. shame

If you think thats the worst of it try playing any carnivore and looking for animals to eat its hard

that's what i do...
maybe was not the best idea to start with carnivoes as a new player...but for now i just take a break when it becomes unplayable...
i can not even see where i step...let alone hunting or so...

what's the point of NightVision if i can't even see where i walk...?

Ptera player here(because flying/watching others is fun), the only thing I'm scared of is water. In the dark, I cant see ♥♥♥♥. So when hunger strikes and its night, I'm forced to risk drowning for the sake of not dying to hunger. Ptera nesting should include being able to store meat/fish in the nest... Also, gives Herra something to search for/do other than bully babys(funny af to watch) or be slaughtered by everyone else.
