This is not a suggestion. It's a thing that happens right now (probubly a bug) and I think it's funny. I mean at least it gives you something to do. Catch the fish, place them on the bank, taste test one every once in a while to see if a lineup is ready. Keep an eye on it to keep other players from stealing them and also watch for other deinos attracted to the meat chunk smell small fish give off. Hardly playing the game for anybody.
This was discovered on accident after trying to find out if I could reach a spesific river where dienos are rather rare due to having to find said river manually. Once I succeeded I was left twiddling gator-claws so I did goofy stuff and stumbled on this.
I wouldn't suggest it. The nutrient it becomes for deino is the one it gives the Ptera and Beipi anyway plus neither of those critters can eat rotten meat.
Foraging still works on the beipi. It begs for more movement states to return stam though. Or just to not loose it. Like swimming forward underwater without sprinting. It uses stam even though it's functionally a walk. It worked fine with the old stam system but beipi doesn't need to be punished for just being under the water.
Ptera is still survive-with-able it's just....tedious. And there's some super spesific ways you have to move in order to not blow through your stam. If you want to fish and you don't want to be there all day mastering the latch mechanic is a must. You can take off from latched position without using stam for the takeoff and you can swallow fish while latched. Your ptera will still be tired afterwards but you'll only have to do one agonizingly long rest and have some fly around time before you have to go through the hubabaloo again.
I'm not psychic so I don't know how long you've been playing or what version you play if I bothered to look at your hours. Trying to be helpful just in case.
I mean let's not pretend this game explains a lot. The Pteradon latch is a several button thing and not really very easy to stumble apon on accident. Everyone who learns how to do it has to look it up or be told.
